Moray Maternity Services This page will provide all official updates regarding the ongoing challenges facing the Paediatrics Service at Dr Gray’s Hospital.

Following a number of recruitment issues, we recently made the difficult decision to temporarily withdraw inpatient services at Ward 2 until we are able to ensure we have a safe and sustainable level of staffing available. This change is only for inpatient paediatric admissions. All paediatric outpatient clinics and other services are unaffected by the change. We would encourage anyone who wants t

Proudly working together to deliver the best possible services for a healthier Grampian. NHS services for the half-million people who live in Grampian are provided by NHS Grampian, and are overseen by one single NHS Board. The single Grampian NHS Board is responsible for improving the health of the Grampian population, and for delivering the health care required. The Board must oversee the taking-forward of Scotland's national health agenda, tailored to the needs of the Grampian population of half-a-million people spread over 3,000 square miles of city, town, village and rural communities. The Board is supported from headquarters at Summerfield House in Aberdeen. Senior managers for the functions which cover the whole of Grampian are based here, including financial overview, corporate planning, and central responsibility for protection and promotion of public health. NHS Grampian consists of acute services, corporate services and three Integrated Joint Boards and works closely with the local authorities. NHS Grampian is also very closely linked with both the University of Aberdeen and The Robert Gordon University, especially in the fields of research, workforce planning and training. Moderation

Looking after someone you care about? Whether it’s a few hours a week or every day, your role matters – and so do you.

💬 What have unpaid carers in Moray told us?

Earlier this year, adult carers, young carers and practitioners shared their experiences through our surveys. One message came through loud and clear:

💙 Recognition matters 💙

Many unpaid carers told us they don't always feel seen, valued or included in decisions, even though they know the person they care for better than anyone.

The good news? Small actions can make a big difference. Taking time to ask, listen and acknowledge someone's caring role helps carers feel understood and supported.

As we mark , we're using what carers have told us to strengthen support across Moray and build more carer friendly communities, where unpaid carers are recognised as equal partners in care.

Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and helped shape the future of support for unpaid carers in Moray. 💙

Quarriers Carer Support Service - Moray supports unpaid carers with information, advice and ways to take care of their own wellbeing.

💜 Saying Goodbye Remembrance Service – Scotland

Anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby is warmly invited to attend a remembrance service at Inverness Cathedral on Tuesday 30 June at 7pm.

This service is open to anyone who has lost a baby during pregnancy, at birth, or in early years — whether that loss was recent or many years ago. It is also a space for those grieving the loss of the chance to have a child.

A quiet opportunity to come together, reflect, and remember.

In Scotland breastfeeding and bottle feeding are both protected by The Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005.

If a person deliberately prevents or stops someone from feeding a child under the age of two in a public place in Scotland they are committing a criminal offence. If a mother is asked to move to another part of the premises, or leave the premises completely this is also an offence. This applies to places that the child has the legal right to be in.

This means that any person should be able to feed a child when required and in the
most appropriate place for them, without the fear of interruption or criticism.
