Moray Maternity Services This page will provide all official updates regarding the ongoing challenges facing the Paediatrics Service at Dr Gray’s Hospital.

Following a number of recruitment issues, we recently made the difficult decision to temporarily withdraw inpatient services at Ward 2 until we are able to ensure we have a safe and sustainable level of staffing available. This change is only for inpatient paediatric admissions. All paediatric outpatient clinics and other services are unaffected by the change. We would encourage anyone who wants t

Proudly working together to deliver the best possible services for a healthier Grampian. NHS services for the half-million people who live in Grampian are provided by NHS Grampian, and are overseen by one single NHS Board. The single Grampian NHS Board is responsible for improving the health of the Grampian population, and for delivering the health care required. The Board must oversee the taking-forward of Scotland's national health agenda, tailored to the needs of the Grampian population of half-a-million people spread over 3,000 square miles of city, town, village and rural communities. The Board is supported from headquarters at Summerfield House in Aberdeen. Senior managers for the functions which cover the whole of Grampian are based here, including financial overview, corporate planning, and central responsibility for protection and promotion of public health. NHS Grampian consists of acute services, corporate services and three Integrated Joint Boards and works closely with the local authorities. NHS Grampian is also very closely linked with both the University of Aberdeen and The Robert Gordon University, especially in the fields of research, workforce planning and training. Moderation

Even if you feel great, some health problems don’t show obvious symptoms. That’s why prenatal tests are so important!

Expect:
📸 Ultrasound – See your baby’s growth!
🩸 Blood & urine tests – Check for infections & anaemia
🔬 Blood pressure & glucose screening – Prevent complications
🤰🏾 Regular baby monitoring – Ensure a safe delivery

Every test is a step toward a healthy pregnancy. Work with your health worker to ensure you get the care you need, when you need it. 💕

We have taken some time before sharing this very sad news. Abha meant so much to us, both personally and professionally, and we wanted to find the right words to honour her life, her contribution and the legacy she leaves behind.

It is with enormous sadness that we share the passing of our Trustee and dear friend, Professor Abha Maheshwari, who sadly passed away on 3 August 2026 following a long battle with breast cancer.

We worked with Abha for many years, initially through Fertility Network UK and later through The Fertility Alliance, where she generously gave her time and expertise as a Trustee.

Abha was an exceptional doctor, researcher and advocate, but above all, patients were at the heart of everything she did. She was a passionate champion for better, fairer and more compassionate fertility care.

Her contribution to reproductive medicine, research and patient care was immense, including her many years at Aberdeen Fertility Centre.

We feel incredibly privileged to have worked alongside Abha and to have had her as part of The Fertility Alliance family. Her wisdom, kindness, compassion and commitment will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with Abha’s family, friends, colleagues and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
