🌿 You may notice I'm a little quieter on social media over the next few days...

I'm currently working behind the scenes on a bit of an overhaul of Nurturing Maternity Support, reviewing systems, planning future content, and making sure everything is working as effectively as possible for the families I support. 💜

I'll still be checking messages and enquiries as normal, but if my posting is a little less frequent than usual, that's why!

I'm excited to share some of the improvements and plans with you soon. ✨

Thank you for you

🤍 Our first Nurture Circle meet-up took place yesterday at The Coffee Bank in Ottery St Mary, and it was so lovely to spend the morning chatting with local parents and little ones.

The Nurture Circle was created to provide a warm, welcoming space where parents can connect, access support and feel less alone during feeding and early parenthood. Whether you're breastfeeding, bottle feeding, combination feeding, pumping, pregnant or simply looking for community, you're always welcome.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our first session such a lovely one. 🌿

We'll be back again next Tuesday from 10am–11:30am at The Coffee Bank, Ottery St Mary.
☕ No booking required
🤍 Babies and children welcome

🌸 What the Fourth Trimester Really Involves 🌸

The term "fourth trimester" is often used to describe the first 12 weeks after birth — a time of huge adjustment for both parents and babies. 💜

While much of pregnancy focuses on preparing for birth, the weeks afterwards bring their own learning curve as you recover, get to know your baby, and settle into a new routine. 🌿

The fourth trimester can involve:

🤍 Physical recovery from birth
🍼 Learning your baby's cues and feeding patterns
😴 Adjusting to broken sleep and changing routines
💬 Processing your birth experience
🌱 Finding your confidence as a new parent

It's important to remember that there is no expectation to "bounce back" during this time. Recovery, bonding, and adjustment all take time.

The fourth trimester is not just about caring for a baby — it's also about caring for yourself as you navigate one of life's biggest transitions. ✨

🌸 Birth Affirmation of the Week 🌸

"Rest is valuable." 💜

Rest is not something you need to earn. During pregnancy and birth preparation, slowing down and giving your body time to recover is an important part of caring for yourself and your baby. 🌿

Allow yourself moments of pause without guilt, knowing that rest supports your wellbeing, your energy, and your ability to move through this journey with greater calm and strength. ✨

🌸 Where to Find Emotional Support 🌸

Pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can bring a huge range of emotions — excitement, joy, uncertainty, overwhelm, and everything in between. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. 💜

Emotional support can come from many different places, including:

🤍 Your partner, family, or trusted friends
Talking openly with people you feel safe with can make a big difference.

🌿 Midwives and healthcare professionals
Your care team is there to support your emotional wellbeing as well as your physical health.

💬 Parent support groups
Connecting with others going through similar experiences can help you feel understood and less alone.

🧘 Antenatal and postnatal support services
Having ongoing guidance and reassurance can provide comfort during periods of change and adjustment.

✨ The Nurture Circle
Our new drop-in support group offers a welcoming space to connect, chat, ask questions, and access gentle support through pregnancy and early parenthood.

You do not have to navigate this journey alone. Support is there, and you deserve to access it. 💜

🌸 Support Beyond the Birth Room 🌸

Support doesn’t end once your baby is born. The transition into early parenthood can bring huge physical, emotional, and practical changes — and continued support during this time matters just as much. 💜

The days and weeks after birth are often filled with adjustment, learning, recovery, and getting to know your baby. Having reassurance, guidance, and someone to turn to can help parents feel more confident and less alone. 🌿

Support beyond birth can look like:

🤍 Emotional reassurance and encouragement
🌿 Feeding support and newborn guidance
💬 Space to talk through your birth experience
🧘 Gentle support during the transition into parenthood

This is one of the reasons my courses include a 1:1 postnatal follow-up session, alongside my new drop-in support group, The Nurture Circle — creating ongoing opportunities for parents to connect, ask questions, and feel supported beyond birth. ✨

Every parent deserves to feel cared for, listened to, and supported beyond the birth room. 💜
