Thank you chargeupwithsteph for taking the time to meet with me last week.

I was delighted to hear your perspective on the proposed under-16s social media ban as a local expert. Listening to your insight, shaped by your work supporting young people's mental health, was incredibly valuable in this important discussion.

The work you do for young people in our community is fantastic and highly beneficial in helping them manage their emotions. Thank you for sharing your experience and understanding with me.

Such a lovely morning meeting lots of lovely new people. 💜

Lovely feedback for ChargeUp with Laura after her session with the Primary 7's at Aberhill Primary School.

There is still time if any Primary 7 teachers would like us to come in and deliver a wellbeing session tailored to compliment the pupils transition to high school.

Please get in touch if this is something you would be interested in 💜

Mental health can be a difficult subject to talk about.
For many people, the stigma attached to it can make opening up feel scary, uncomfortable, or even impossible.

But struggling in silence can feel incredibly lonely.

Please know that no matter what your thoughts may tell you, the world is a better place with you in it. You matter, your feelings matter, and support is always out there.

Please reach out if you are struggling — you do not have to carry everything alone 💜

NEWS: Vital mental health service for young people - Just SHOUT

With exams underway, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is reminding young Fifers to SHOUT if they need vital mental health support.

SHOUT is a free, confidential, text support service and is available 24 hours a day.

Any young person who needs it should text FIFE to 85258 for free to connect with a trained volunteer.

Accessing the service doesn’t show up on mobile bills.

Trained volunteers are available day or night to help children or young people with a range of concerns from stress to anxiety, loneliness or depression.

Ruth Bennett, Health Promotion’s Manager, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership said: “We know exam time can be overwhelming for some young people and can trigger feelings of stress or anxiety.

“Everyone needs help from time to time and we’d urge anyone who feels they need help to just SHOUT.”

SHOUT is one of a range of support services available and other useful links for support for services available in Fife are available via the links in comments

If a young person needs help now, support is available from:

NHS 24: 111 or in an emergency always phone 999

Samaritans: 116 123 (open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day),

Childline: 0800 1111 (open 365 days a year, 7.30 am until 3.30 am).
