National Eye Health Week takes place next week, offering a great opportunity to talk to patients about protecting their sight

Important FTY update

PSD Scotland has issued its FTY expression of interest. OS has identified an important ambiguity between registering to receive information and indicating potential placement capacity.

We have requested urgent clarification. In the meantime, we recommend that practice owners and other decision-makers wait for further OS advice before responding.

The EOI remains open until Wednesday 23 September.

Don’t forget to complete your 2026 GOS Mandatory Training

This year’s module, A Realistic Approach to Community Eyecare, aims to enhance your understanding of Realistic Medicine and Value-Based Health and Care within your role as an eyecare practitioner in Scotland.

Deadline: 31 December 2026
GOC CPD points: 1 non-interactive point

As set out in PCA(O)2025(02), to be eligible to claim a Continuing Professional Development allowance in future, a clinician must have satisfactorily completed the GOS mandatory training for the relevant calendar year, unless they are exempt from doing so under the terms of the PCA.
