This week we welcomed our newest brand ambassador, Chad to the office for his first in-person look at his Series 5, and to complete the final fitting ahead of the last adjustments.

Chad occupies a unique and vibrant corner of the disability space as a wheelchair bodybuilder, and is well known in many circles of the disability community and beyond. He knows exactly what he wants from his chair, and designing accessories and mounts around the tools he needs to live life to the fullest was a challenge our team loved taking on.

Travelling can be full on.

Especially when you are trying to make the most of every day, see everything and not waste a moment.

Whilst on the accessible canal boat, I reclined in my Freedom One Life Series 5, took some pressure off and let my body rest while the city carried on passing by outside.

Having a way to manage pain without having to miss the moment made a real difference.

Using the bus in Amsterdam.

We took it a couple of times to and from Central Station. It meant we could get out and do things during the day, then get back to the hotel when we were ready to rest.

Finding it was the hard bit.

The route hadn’t shown up properly on Google Maps when I was planning before the trip. A few people told us about this specific bus, but even then it was confusing.

Some of the drivers weren’t exactly straight with their answers either.

Once we found it and used it a few times, the trip was almost over.

We wondered why we hadn’t known about it sooner.

Access was pretty straightforward though. The ramp came out, I got on and swerved into the wheelchair space, which you can see in the picture.

Unless you were that one driver who said my wheelchair wouldn’t get on, even though I’d already used the bus multiple times before then.

It is what it is.

ID: I don't know why but Isaac looks like a proper American tourist in a totally different country. And I say that because of the American Cincinnati cap that he's wearing on his head and then that random top that people seem to wear, in this case he's wearing a shirt which has a cat flying around with pizzas, it is on the decks doing some djing. He is inside a bus that is used in Amsterdam. It was a pretty empty bus but there is someone else sitting looking away from the camera and if you look very closely you can also see the driver with one of his mirrors. For some reason it's got quite a lot of exposure as the outside is very bright but let's class that as being a good day.

The Series 5 is a powerchair designed with public transport in mind so you can get around with ease. It fits within public transport permitted dimensions, so you’ll have no problem getting on and off buses, trains, trams or however else you like to get around.

A month ago, I was heading to Amsterdam on the Eurostar.

I’ve used it a few times for Paris and it has always been pretty smooth sailing, but going straight to Amsterdam felt like a proper little adventure.

Around four hours later, I was there.

The staff were friendly, the journey was easy and it was a really nice way to start the trip.

Looking forward to sharing a few more bits from Amsterdam as the weeks and days go on.

I’ve always found it a bit strange asking people to support what I do.

A few years ago, I had a Buy Me a Coffee page for people who are willing to support me financially.

Except mine was Apple Juice, because I do not drink coffee.

I moved away from it for a while, partly because life got busy and I was trying to do too many things at once.

But if I’m honest, a big part of it was that I felt awkward asking people for money or support in that way.

I still do a bit.

There is something about putting a link out there that can make it feel like you are asking too much, even when you know people are choosing to give because they want to.

But I’m trying to get my head around the fact that allowing people to support you can matter too.

I’m putting more time into sharing life as it happens. Getting out more, trying new things, days out, access, adventures and all the little moments that come with it.

I want to keep creating more of that and see where it can go.

To anyone who has supported me through this platform before, thank you. It has never gone unnoticed, and it is genuinely appreciated more than I probably know how to say.
