Celebrating Community Impact at Our Grants Coffee Morning ☕

This morning we were delighted to welcome a small selection of organisations that we have supported through our 2026 grant funding round.

Our grants coffee morning provided an informal opportunity to network, share experiences and showcase the incredible work being delivered across our region by the voluntary and community sector.

We are proud to support initiatives that make such a meaningful difference within local communities.

Our sincere thanks to Michael Poole DL Vice Lord-Lietenant and Jonathan Brash MP for attending and for their continued support of the sector. Thanks also to Greggs for donating breakfast items.

💙 Dementia Action Week 2026 💙

This week has been a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to raise awareness and support people living with dementia and their families.

These photos capture some special moments from our Dementia Action Week activities. We held a celebration event at St Joseph’s Church during the monthly Memories in Tune session, where 48 people enjoyed live music, a buffet, dancing, and great company. It was fantastic to see everybody up dancing and enjoying themselves 🎶💃

We also spent time networking and raising awareness at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre alongside our valued partners from the Adult Mental Health Team, NHS Specialist Dementia Nurse, and Healthwatch.

Dementia Action Week is so important because it helps break down stigma, encourages conversations, and reminds people that no one should face dementia alone.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and worked alongside us throughout the week. 💙

It’s the start of Dementia Action Week 💙

This week is all about raising awareness, challenging stigma, and supporting people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.

In Hartlepool, there are lots of opportunities to get involved, connect with others, and show support across the community.

Every conversation, act of kindness and moment of understanding makes a difference. Together we can help make Hartlepool a more dementia-friendly community 💙

For many people, celebrating a birthday means cake, cards, and maybe a quiet day off. But for Terry Gibson, gardener at The Greatham Foundation, it means climbing onto the wing of an aeroplane and soaring through the skies!

Terry has decided to mark his birthday by taking on an incredible wing walk challenge — not just for the thrill, but to raise money for a cause close to his heart: the residents of Stichell House Care Home.

Every day, the team at Stichell House works hard to create a warm, happy, and fulfilling environment for residents. The funds raised through Terry’s challenge will go directly towards residents’ activity and events funds.

Terry is well known around The Greatham Foundation for his dedication, kindness, and hard work in keeping the grounds beautiful for everyone to enjoy. Now he’s taking things to new heights — literally — to help make life even more special for the residents at Stichell House.

A wing walk is no small feat, and Terry is bravely stepping far outside his comfort zone to support others. Every donation, no matter the size, will help create memorable experiences for residents and show Terry that his courage and generosity are truly appreciated.

Please support Terry’s birthday wing walk challenge and help us make a real difference to the lives of the residents at Stichell House.
