💚 Can You Help Our SUDC Charity Fundraiser? 💚

We are looking for prize donations for our charity fundraiser in aid of SUDC UK (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood), which will be held on 22nd August 2026 at Meltham Liberal Club.

We are seeking donations of:
🎁 Products or gift sets
🍽️ Restaurant, café or takeaway vouchers
💇 Beauty, hair or wellbeing treatments
🎟️ Tickets to attractions or events
🏡 Local experiences and activities
🔧 Services from local businesses
🎨 Handmade items, hampers, or unique gifts

Every prize donated will help us raise vital funds through our charity auction, with all proceeds going to SUDC UK to support affected families, raise awareness, and fund important research.

This event is being held in loving memory of Lewis Hayden Wainwright, and with your support we hope to make this year’s fundraiser our biggest and most successful yet.

If you or your business would like to donate a prize, experience, service, or product, please send us a message. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of the family, we announce the passing of Margaret Brett.

BRETT, Margaret. On 10th May 2026 peacefully at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary aged 80 years of Bolster Moor.
Beloved wife of Eric, dearly loved mum of Anthony (Billy), dear mother in law of Sammy. Devoted grandma of Ernie and Albert, and a much loved sister of Philip.
A service will be held at Scapegoat Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday 17th June at 1pm, followed by interment at Pole Moor Cemetery.
Family flowers only please but donations may be split between Kirkwood Hospice and Dementia UK.

The family request that a splash of purple to be worn if possible.

BATTYE, Albert John Harrison. On 4th May 2026 peacefully at his home in Crosland Moor.
Beloved husband of the late Pat. Dearly loved dad of Joanne and the late Steven. Dear father in law to Jeanette, loving grandad of Tara, Katie and Emily and a proud great grandad of Bella.
A service and cremation will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Tuesday 16th June at 11.15am.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Yorkshire Cancer Research or British Heart Foundation for which a box will be available.

On behalf of the family, we announce the passing of Mandy Appleyard.

APPLEYARD, Mandy. on 12th April 2026, peacefully at her home in Aspley, aged 63 years.
Beloved daughter of the late Brian and Christine and a much loved niece and cousin.
A celebration of her life will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Thursday 21st May at 1.15pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to Kirkwood Hospice for which a box will be available.
Mandy would have requested that everyone to dress happy.
