Please see below the missed appointment figures for August👇🏼

We understand patients frustrations when we offer appointments so far in advance but this is one of the main reasonss why.

Appointments are not being cancelled in advance meaning we have no way of offering them to other patients who would like to be seen sooner than their original appointment.

If you know you can’t make your appointment, please cancel so someone else can make use of your appointment.

We have now reached full capacity with both our GPs and ANPs.

We ask that any patients who can wait till another day please call back later in the week.

If you feel you do need to be seen today as per the GP request you will be triaged by a receptionist so we can point you in the best direction.

⚠️Service Disruption week commencing 05.10.26⚠️

Our clinical system is due to change this week and there will be some disruptions to how we usually work.

We currently can now no longer pre book GP appointments 6 weeks in advance as this falls into the time frame where we are operating 'Same day urgent emergency appointments only'

As previously advised we cannot issue repeat prescriptions during our system down time so we have been planning with your Pharmacy in advance to make sure you have an adequate amount of medicaiton to cover over this time.

Any routine pre bookable appointments will have to wait until we are fully running on our new systems, we have waiting lists already in place and if you are on this list we will call you back with a suitable appointment once clinics are created.

Please see a note in the comments about other places that may be able to help you during this time if your issue does not fall under the category 'Urgent emergency appointment'

We appreciate this is a difficult situation but we hope this new system will be better for both us and the patient.

Over the coming months, GP practices across Fife will transition to a new clinical IT system as part of a national programme to create a single, standardised GP system across Scotland.

For most patients, there will be little or no change to how they access GP services. However, during the period immediately before, during, and after their practice changes over, some temporary disruption may occur, including:

✅ Reduced appointment availability on specific days
✅ Changes to online services, such as appointment booking
✅ Delays in processing non-urgent requests

GP practices will remain open throughout the transition and will continue to provide care for patients who need urgent medical assistance.

You can help by:

✔️ Ordering repeat prescriptions in plenty of time
✔️ Attending appointments as planned unless advised otherwise
✔️ Ensuring your GP practice has up-to-date contact details

Information about when individual practices will move to the new system will be shared by GP practices directly and on our website.

Some GP practices are taking part in a Protected Learning Time session on Tuesday 8 September between 1pm and 6pm.

Practices take part in a number of sessions throughout the year to allow staff to access training. During this time:

▶️ you should attend appointments unless advised otherwise
▶️ pharmacies should call 01592 729 250 for urgent enquiries
