🇪🇸 Day 2 - Spanish Study Tour

Following our R&D Day, the team visited farms in northern Spain and continued the conversation around some of the key challenges and opportunities facing dairy producers.

There were some great discussions and plenty of ideas shared around different forage strategies, transition management, heat stress abatement, and more.

Thank you to our farm hosts, nutritionist Jesús de la Iglesia and Zinpro's Emma Millar for sharing their time and experience with us.

If you’d like to find out more the study tour and future updates, just send us a message with your contact details and we’ll add you to our mailing list. 😀

🇪🇸 Spanish Study Tour

Last week, the team were kindly hosted by Zinpro at their Innovation Center in Spain. It’s the second of their global innovation centres, the first being located in Minnesota.

Dr. Arturo Gomez presented some of the latest breakthroughs from Zinpro, alongside Dr. Riccardo Bevilacqua, who also showed the team around the wet and dry labs.

There were some interesting discussions around gastrointestinal and rumen digestion, sustainability, microbiology and fermentation, as well as how the latest research can translate into practical benefits for livestock producers.

If you’d like to hear more about our visit and how this research could relate to improving performance on your dairy unit, just pop us a message with your contact details and we’ll add you to our mailing list.

A special thank you to Emma Millar at Zinpro for organising the trip.

🥛 The milk drop associated with grass silage mycotoxins is an infrequent but costly problem for vets, farmers and their advisors.

🐄 Digital Dairy Chain, through our innovation voucher scheme, funded a joint project with farmers and industry to investigate the problem on 10 farms across the DDC region, together with an in depth investigation on one farm.

➡️ We are hosting a webinar where the project team will be presenting findings on the distribution and origin of mycotoxins in grass silage clamps and their effects on the dairy cow and what practical steps can be taken to help decrease mycotoxins in the clamp.

, , Silage Solutions,

📅 Date: Tuesday 6th October
⏰ Time: 7pm - 8pm

The webinar (held on Teams) is intended for farmers, vets and feed consultants. This event is relevant to anyone interested in dairy cow health and nutrition.
