Children often don’t realise there’s a problem with their vision — because they assume everyone sees the way they do. 👀

Standing at over 6ft tall, our Optometrist Adrian is hard to miss — and so is his dedication to exceptional patient care.

Professional, highly clinical, and incredibly knowledgeable, Adrian is an excellent optician who always goes above and beyond for his patients. His calm approach, attention to detail, and genuine care make every appointment reassuring and thorough — it’s easy to see why patients think so highly of him.

Outside of work, Adrian enjoys fishing, spending time with his dog Hugo 🐶🎣, and absolutely excels at pub quizzes — a true fountain of knowledge!

A lovely full-circle moment for our team — Adrian first met Annabelle at University of Bradford over 20 years ago while they were both students. After starting their journeys in optics together, it’s fantastic to now be working alongside each other again as experienced professionals.

If you’ve met Claire, you’ll know instantly why she’s such a huge part of our team 💛

Our amazing Ophthalmic Dispensing Assistant is quite simply one of the kindest, most generous people you could ever meet. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she would do absolutely anything for anyone — patients and team alike.

Claire keeps us all smiling with her endless positivity, caring nature and of course… her expert tea-making skills ☕️✨ She’s always looking after everyone around her and brings so much fun and laughter to every day.

Outside of work, Claire is incredibly devoted to her family and is always caring for and supporting her family members. She’s also a huge dog lover (and trusted dog sitter too 🐶).

As Lincoln’s Low Vision Specialist, Annabelle has been at Cardiff University supporting the next generation of clinicians. Periodically she travels to Cardiff University’s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 amazing Optometry department to assess undergraduate and postgraduate students during their Low Vision OSCEs for the Professional Certificate in Low Vision.

✨ Does reading ever feel uncomfortable or overwhelming?

Visual Stress is a condition where the brain becomes overly sensitive to visual information. It can cause words to appear to move, blur, or shimmer, making reading and concentrating much more difficult.

Common symptoms include:
📖 Words moving or becoming distorted
👁️ Sore or tired eyes
💥 Headaches
🧠 Difficulty concentrating
📚 Avoiding reading or close work
