About us

The Body Motion Company was founded by Chartered Physiotherapist Tracey Gjertsen to deliver her unique blend of skills as a Pilates Practitioner, Sports Therapist, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer. Tracey has more than 30 years experience in the fitness industry, initially in London where she worked with a number of private health organisations, honing her skills as a

group and personal fitness trainer and instructor. Further qualifications in Corrective Exercise from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and as an Advanced Pilates Practitioner allowed Tracey to develop her interest in Fitness, Sports Performance and Rehabilitation. The Body Motion Company represents the unparalleled fusion of skills and experience gained during Tracey’s career specialising in health and fitness combined with professional qualifications in sports therapy and as a chartered physiotherapist. These skills enable Tracey to not only treat a significant range of musculoskeletal conditions but also to support clients back to full fitness and improved performance through processes of rehabilitation. By working in partnership, Tracey’s clients have been motivated to achieve new and improved heights of fitness. Tracey is currently embarking on a Phd in Pelvic Floor Dysfunction at Manchester Metropolitan University. Professional qualifications:`

We’ve opened additional Intro to Reformer sessions due to demand.

For just £5, you’ll spend 30 minutes learning how the reformer works, building confidence with the equipment and getting ready to join our classes.

The best hour of your day might be the one right after work. 🌅

If early mornings really aren't your thing, our evening Reformer Pilates classes are made for you. You walk in carrying the tightness and noise of the day, and an hour later you leave taller, calmer and properly stronger.

Here is when you can join us:
Monday 5.15pm
Tuesday 5.15pm, 6pm and 7pm
Wednesday 5.45pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm
Thursday 6pm and 7pm

Every class is physio-led and kept small, so you are looked after properly, whatever your starting point.

And with the lighter evenings here, there is something lovely about finishing a class at The Lawn and staying for a drink in the sun before you head home. ☀️

If you're in your 40s, 50s or beyond, this one is worth two minutes of your time.

There is a lot happening in a woman's body around midlife that nobody really prepares you for. As oestrogen drops through perimenopause, bone density can decline faster than at any other stage of life. Muscle quietly slips away. Balance changes. And the pelvic floor often needs far more attention than it gets.

None of this means slowing down. It means moving smarter.

If you've trained with us before, you'll already know her. Gayle is a physiotherapist, a Reformer specialist and a women's health expert, and one of the warmest, sharpest pairs of eyes you could have on you in a class.

She's spent the last while on maternity leave, living pregnancy, birth and postnatal recovery for herself. She's come back to us with even deeper insight into what real bodies need, and the same honest, straight-talking support our clients love her for.

You'll find Gayle teaching our Saturday Reformer Pilates classes in Lincoln, 9am for beginners and 10am for intermediate, right in the heart of The Lawn.

Over 60% of UK women have at least one symptom of poor pelvic floor health.
Yet more than half have never done pelvic floor exercises, and 7 in 10 say they’ve never been spoken to about it by anyone in the NHS.

Let that sink in for a moment.

We’re told to look after our heart, our skin, our diet, but very few people talk about our pelvic floor.
The muscles that support your bladder, bowel and womb.
