Today we're thinking of our dads, grandads, our children and all those who have a special place in our hearts πŸ’š

All are welcome to either of our events running today at Anfield Crematorium or Thornton Garden of Rest. You will find a space to remember and reflect, someone to talk to if you'd like to or simply hear the name of your person said aloud.

Be kind to yourselves today, let Grief in as remember, it's only there because of the Love that was there first.

Well worth reading David's thoughts on direct cremation and the misleading information that's out there in the public domain.

As we always say, direct cremation has its place, but only when the choice has been made with the right and transparent information.

If you'd like to talk more about this, please do get in touch with our team who would be more than happy to chat.

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled against online direct cremation firm Pure Cremation.

πŸ‘€ Do you see me?

As we celebrate Learning Disability Week 2026, we're proud to be partnering with People First Merseyside for a Death CafΓ© that's for everyone.

This year's theme, "Do you see me?", is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. Together, we're creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where conversations about death, dying and grief can happen openly, honestly and without barriers.

Join us for games, refreshments, laughter and important conversation as we challenge perceptions and ensure every voice is heard.

Let's talk Direct Cremations.

You can't turn on the television or radio at the moment without hearing adverts about it. Many of these adverts focus on saving money, avoiding fuss, and taking the burden away from loved ones.

And for some people, direct cremation may be exactly the right choice, but it's important to understand what direct cremation actually means.

A direct cremation is simply a cremation without a funeral service beforehand. It doesn't mean families can't gather, remember, celebrate a life, or say goodbye. What worries us is when audiences are led to believe that the cheapest option is automatically the kindest option.

Grief isn't something to be rushed.

For many people, having a space to come together, share stories, support one another, and acknowledge a death is an important part of the grieving process. That goodbye might happen in a crematorium, a place of worship, a favourite pub, the back garden, or somewhere completely unique to your person. It might happen before a cremation or after one.

What matters is choice and you being informed of all the options available to you. A direct cremation can be part of a meaningful farewell. It shouldn't replace one.

What are your thoughts? Do you think we, as a society, are placing enough value on the importance of saying goodbye?
