As parents, it’s natural to think that if a young athlete gets injured, the solution is to see a physio—and if they do get injured, I’m here for injury assessment and rehabilitation 👋
But injury prevention starts long before an athlete walks into a clinic ⚠️
Many sports injuries occur when the demands placed on a young athlete exceed their ability to cope with them. Training load, strength, movement quality, recovery, sleep, and growth all play a role.
That’s why athletic development is so important ❗️
Teaching young athletes how to move well, build strength, recover properly, and understand their bodies helps them become more resilient and better prepared for the demands of sport. A physio can help manage injuries when they occur, but resilience is built through consistent training and education.
That’s one of the reasons we’ve developed our Youth Athletic Development physio-led programme—to help young athletes build the foundations for long-term performance, health, and enjoyment of sport ❤️
