Pride Month is a reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported, including in their mental health journey. 🌈🧠

LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and minority stress, often shaped by experiences of stigma, discrimination, or lack of acceptance.

Mental health support should be affirming, inclusive, and accessible to all.

This month, and every month, we celebrate authenticity, resilience, and the right to exist as your full self. 💛

For years, teen dramas made us believe that a story had to be extreme to be engaging. The more a relationship hurt, the 'deeper' it was supposed to be.

Watching Off-Campus, though, we got the complete opposite impression: we felt like we were watching characters who actually feel like real people. They’re individuals carrying their own traumas, fears and insecurities, trying to grow up without their pain being turned into a spectacle.

And it’s so refreshing to see a teen series prove that you can tackle heavy topics with sensitivity, and that features role-model relationships.

Did you lot enjoy Off-Campus? ⬇️

With more hot days ahead, please share this. Not everyone knows how medication can impact our body’s ability to keep cool.

Check the information leaflet on your medication for side effects and risks. If you have concerns, speak to a GP or pharmacist. They can advise you more on your own medication.

Smear campaigns are rarely about revenge. They’re about control.

When a narcissist feels exposed, they move quickly to protect their image. And the easiest way to do that is to attack yours.

The rumors often target your identity, not just your behaviour. They question your sanity, your integrity, your motives. And this is when the self-doubt creeps in.

You do not have to navigate this alone, we are here to help. 🧡

One of the biggest misconceptions about couples therapy is that people come when problems first appear.

In reality, many couples start relationship counselling when one partner is already emotionally checked out, resentment has been building for months (sometimes years), trust has been damaged, and therapy feels like the last attempt before separation.

By that point, we’re often not just working on communication.

We’re working through:
• unresolved hurt
• defensiveness
• emotional disconnection
• trust issues
• feelings of hopelessness
• patterns that have repeated for years

The first sessions of couples therapy can feel uncomfortable because many people arrive expecting the therapist to decide who is “right” and who is “wrong.”

That isn’t the work.

The work is understanding the cycle underneath the conflict.

Who pursues and who withdraws.
Who gets louder and who shuts down.
What fear sits underneath the anger.
What loneliness hides beneath the distance.

Healing relationships often starts with rebuilding emotional safety, learning to communicate without immediately becoming defensive, and listening without preparing a counterargument.

Sometimes therapy feels slow because we are not only trying to solve an argument. We are understanding the patterns keeping couples stuck.

That process can feel frustrating. You may leave sessions feeling exposed, challenged, or uncomfortable.

Good therapy sometimes does that.

It helps you notice the blind spots, not only feel validated in your position.

Something I wish more people knew before starting couples counselling:

Therapy rarely works if the goal is proving your partner is the problem.

It works when both people become willing to ask:

“How am I participating in the cycle that is hurting us?”

💬 What’s one thing you think more couples should know before starting therapy?

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia.

Being LGBTQIA+ is not a mental health problem.
And it does not cause mental health problems.
But discrimination does.

We all have a responsibility to stand against it.

If you have experienced homophobia, biphobia, lesbophobia or transphobia, you are not alone. Our Team is here to support you. 🌈

Two things can be true at once 💭

Growth isn’t about becoming perfect, it’s about learning how to hold different truths without judging yourself for them ❤️‍🩹

If you’ve been feeling like you should be “further along” by now, this is your reminder, you’re allowed to be a work in progress and still be worthy of compassion.
