Last week was Carers Week, a time dedicated to recognising carers nationally and the incredible support they provide every day. While we wanted to keep the focus where it belongs, we also took a moment to show our appreciation for the wonderful team here at Burrows House 💜

Our General Manager, Maryam, was delighted to present certificates of recognition to several team members who have dedicated more than 10 years to our home. Their kindness, commitment and hard work have touched the lives of so many residents and families over the years.

A special congratulations to Ann Marie, Beverley, Pauline, Jennifer, Mirela, Said and Timothy on this incredible milestone. Thank you for everything you do. We are so lucky to have you as part of the Burrows House family 💜

It was such a lovely day of celebration at Burrows House as we came together to mark the birthdays of both Brenda and Peter 🎂💜

We all gathered in the home for a relaxed and happy celebration, with our lovely residents and staff sharing plenty of smiles, laughter and birthday wishes. It was made even more special as Brenda’s family joined us too, bringing that extra bit of joy to the afternoon.

Surrounded by familiar faces and a real sense of togetherness, it was a wonderful way to celebrate two very special people in our home 🎉✨

There were plenty of raised arms, big smiles and flying beach balls during our Music and Movement session at Burrows House 💜

Our wonderful residents had a fantastic time getting involved in some fun ball games alongside our activities coordinator, all while enjoying a playlist of much loved tunes. There was lots of cheering, laughter and encouragement as everyone joined in and kept the ball moving around the room 🎶⚾

It was wonderful to see so many residents getting involved, sharing a laugh together and making the most of a fun and energetic morning 😊

It was a truly lovely day at Burrows House as we welcomed back our special four legged friend, Dixie, for another Pets As Therapy visit 🐕‍🦺💜

The moment she walked in, the room filled with smiles. Our wonderful residents were so happy to see her again, sharing gentle strokes, treats, and plenty of laughter as Dixie made her way around for her usual rounds of cuddles and friendly greetings.

She has such a calming way about her, and it was beautiful to see how quickly everyone relaxed and enjoyed the moment with her by their side. From quiet cuddles to a few playful interactions, Dixie brought so much warmth and joy to the home once again 🐾

We always look forward to her visits and the special connection she brings to our residents 😊

The sunshine was too good to stay indoors, so our wonderful residents of Burrows House headed out into the garden for an afternoon of creativity and fresh air. 🦋

With paintbrushes in hand, everyone enjoyed bringing beautiful butterfly decorations to life, adding their own colours and designs while chatting away in the sunshine. There was plenty of laughter, a few cups of tea, and lots of admiration for each other's artwork along the way 💜

Sometimes the simplest afternoons are the most enjoyable, and this was certainly one of them.

A very special thank you card from Lillian's family has meant so much to all of us at Burrows House 💜

Lillian was part of our home for many years and became such a familiar and much loved presence in daily life. It was a privilege to share so many moments with her and get to know the wonderful person behind every story and smile.

Thank you to her family for their kind words and for trusting us to be part of Lillian's journey. She will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be remembered with great fondness ❤️

Last week, we marked National Cheese Day at Burrows House with a delicious afternoon of cheese, crackers and good company 🧀💜

Our wonderful residents enjoyed sampling a selection of cheeses paired with crackers, with a glass of wine for those who fancied one. With music playing in the background and plenty of conversation around the tables, it was a relaxed afternoon that everyone seemed to enjoy.

The best part was seeing residents sitting together, chatting and sharing memories as they enjoyed a favourite treat. Sometimes it is the simple things that bring people together, and this was certainly one of those occasions 🍷😊

It was a truly special day at Burrows House as our lovely Linda celebrated her Golden Wedding Anniversary with her husband and family 💜

There was a wonderful family gathering with party food and plenty of smiles all around as everyone came together to mark such an incredible milestone. One of the most touching moments was when Linda and her husband listened back to their wedding tapes, sharing memories from the day they first said “I do”.

Linda was absolutely delighted to have her family by her side, and it was a joy for us all to see so much love and happiness in the room. A beautiful celebration filled with memories, laughter, and togetherness 😊

National Fish and Chips Day was the perfect excuse for a classic favourite at Burrows House . 🐟🍟

As our lovely residents tucked into their fish and chips lunch, the conversation soon turned to memories of Fridays gone by. Many shared stories of finishing work for the week and joining the queue at their local chip shop, looking forward to that well earned treat.

It was lovely to hear everyone reminiscing and comparing memories while enjoying a meal that brought back so many familiar moments 💜
