Recovery is often shaped by the small practical details.
In this final part of our patient conversation series, Mr Hazem Alfie discusses with a patient one of the less glamorous aspects of recovery: wearing compression garments.
Garments can feel tight and uncomfortable after surgery, but they are often an important part of the post-operative plan. They help support the treated areas while swelling reduces and the tissues continue to settle.
The patient also shares how her measurements changed following VASER liposuction to the calves, and how this affected everyday things such as choosing boots, trousers, and leggings.
These are the practical details that are not always spoken about, but they can make a real difference to how patients understand the recovery process and the outcome.
Every patient's experience is different. Recovery, garment use, swelling, and final results vary depending on the procedure, anatomy, healing response, and aftercare.
