Our monthly Neurodiversity Support Group offers a safe and supportive space for neurodivergent women to connect, share experiences, and learn practical strategies for everyday life.

A shared understanding can make all the difference ☘️💚.

We are incredibly thankful to the Government of Ireland's Emigrant Support Programme for supporting our Irish Women's Service, enabling us to provide one-to-one counselling for Irish women and women of Irish descent. Generations of Irish women left their homeland and settled in Britain, sometimes as a result of traumatic experiences. Political and domestic violence, institutional and sexual abuse, can compound the impact of migration and lead to transgenerational trauma for many families trying to settle in another place.

This culturally sensitive service has offered a unique space where women can connect through shared identity and experience. Run by Irish women, for Irish women, it fosters healing, resilience and a powerful sense of belonging.

Family relationships can be complicated. 💜

Love, loyalty, hurt, responsibility, and loss can exist side by side. Sometimes the impact of family relationships and childhood experiences stays with us long into adulthood, shaping how we see ourselves and connect with others.

Join our 10-week therapeutic group, where we'll explore family trauma, childhood experiences, toxic relationships, boundaries, self-worth, and healthier ways of relating.

This is a safe and supportive space to reflect, learn, and connect with other women who may be navigating similar challenges. Facilitated by a qualified female therapist.

Too many women on low incomes are left waiting for the support they urgently need. Free counselling services like The Maya Centre can be a lifeline, but demand is growing faster than we can meet it.

This month, thanks to funding from Islington Giving through the Family Catalyst Fund, we were able to support 12 women on low incomes with grants before the school holidays. These grants helped women organise wellbeing activities, learning opportunities, and skill-building experiences for themselves and their families. 💜

But we know many more women still need support.

For many years, the Black Women’s Project has provided specialist support for Black women, creating safe and supportive spaces where healing can happen together.

Through groups such as the Emotional Emancipation Group, creative drama therapy, and the Somali Women’s Group, Black and Black mixed heritage women can connect with others who understand their experiences. These are spaces where women can feel heard, valued, understood, and cared for 💜
