Happy Volunteers' Week to our KIMS Angels 💛 This week, we're celebrating and thanking our dedicated volunteers for the kindness and support they bring to our patients.

The Angels say "We enjoy making a difference to someone’s day, helping them feel more relaxed and less alone during their hospital stay. We most look forward to spending time with patients from all walks of life and hearing their fascinating stories and life experiences. It is a very rewarding and satisfying role – you are appreciated by every patient you speak to."

Whether offering a friendly face, a listening ear or simply being there when it matters most, our KIMS Angels make a real difference across the hospital.

As part of Heart Month earlier this year, KIMS Hospital joined forces with a few of it's football club partners to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, while also promoting the importance of heart health awareness within the football community.

KIMS Hospital would like to extend its sincere thanks to Folkestone Invicta Football Club and Charlton Athletic FC Community Trust, who together deliver the club’s academy programme, as well as Maidstone United (Official) and Bearsted Football Club , alongside Bearsted FC sponsor Midas Waste, for their fantastic support in helping to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Their involvement highlights the growing importance of heart health awareness across all levels of the game.

While cardiac screening is often associated with elite athletes, knowing your heart health is just as important in grassroots sport, where thousands of players take to the pitch every week. Through the Healthy Hearts FC project, KIMS Hospital is proud to be working alongside the Kent FA to offer players at affiliated Kent clubs the opportunity to access an ECG screening, helping to raise awareness and support the long-term health of local football communities.
