Week in the Clinic 🔁

Another week. Another room full of different injuries.

ACL rebuilds. Hamstring strains. Achilles pain. Runners. Footballers. Gym-goers. Desk workers who haven’t trained properly in years.

Different starting points. One destination: back to performance.

Pain-free is just the checkpoint. The goal is getting you back to running faster, lifting heavier and playing harder than before the injury.

And nobody here is guessing how to get there.

Every client has a plan built around their injury, their body and their sport. Every session has a purpose. Every week, we measure progress so you can see it, not just hope for it.

If your rehab stopped the moment the pain did, it’s not finished.

Your tendon isn’t the only problem. Your knee not straightening is. 🦵

Jad’s been dealing with chronic patellar tendon pain and wants to get back to football.

One thing we see constantly with tendon pain is that the knee loses the ability to fully straighten. It sounds small, but if your knee stays slightly bent, the tendon never gets a break. It’s working overtime on every step, every stride, every landing.

So before we go heavy, we fix that first.

➡️ Terminal Knee Extension: band behind the knee, drive it back until it’s fully straight
➡️ Full range, every rep
➡️ Slow and controlled, feel the thigh switch on at the top

Simple? Yes. Skippable? No. Get this right and every exercise after it, and every match after that, puts less stress on the tendon.

Rehab isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things in the right order.

Most knee rehab doesn’t stall because of the wrong exercises. It stalls because nobody progresses them.

The knee needs range, then strength, then load tolerance, then power, then speed. Skip a stage and it
shows up later as pain, a setback, or a reinjury.

Here’s the sequence:
→Terminal knee extension: owning full lockout → Banded lunge: strength with full extension → Poliquin step: building tendon capacity → Step-up: single-leg power → Agility ladder: footwork before change of
direction

This is the progression we use with our clients at Proflex to return back to sport.

That shake isn’t your body failing. It’s your body finally being asked to work.

This is the Copenhagen Iso — one of the most underused exercises in rehab, and one of the most effective for adductor strength. Most people (and most trainers) see shaking under load and pull back immediately. We don’t. When a tissue shakes, it’s switching on, not breaking down. Avoided tissue only gets stronger by being forced to load in exactly the range it’s been avoiding.

Your adductors control how your knee behaves under fatigue and injuries don’t happen at rep one, they happen when muscles like this give out and something else has to compensate.

We test this exact quality - strength and fatigue tolerance as part of our 360 Assessment. If you’ve had a groin or knee injury before, there’s a good chance this was never checked.

Most runners never train their hamstrings the right way.

They stretch them. They ignore them. Then they wonder why they keep breaking down.

The hamstring doesn’t just need to be strong it needs to handle load at speed, under tension, while your hip is moving.

That’s exactly what this does.

Band pulls you into flexion. You drive into extension. Same demand as running. Built into one exercise.

But here’s the thing, this is just one piece.

If you’re a runner dealing with tightness, recurring strains, or niggles that won’t clear, your hamstrings are probably just the symptom.

The real issue is somewhere else in the chain.

DM ASSESSMENT or click the link in bio to book your 360 Assessment — we find every weak link and build a plan around it.

That shaking isn’t weakness. It’s exposure.

When you force the big toe to load, you take away the shortcut your body has been using. Most people roll to the outside of the foot and let the hamstring cruise. Pin the big toe down and the whole chain has to work. The shake is your nervous system responding to a challenge it’s been avoiding.

→ Heels on a bench, knees slightly bent
→ Drive through the big toe
→ Hips up, glutes on, hold
→ Don’t let the foot roll out

This is how we get you back to sport: by challenging what your body avoids, not just easing the pain.

Rest isn’t the fix. A clear plan is.

Every person in these clips started in the same place: an initial assessment. We found the root cause, set their goal, and built a guided plan to get there.

No guesswork. No generic exercise sheets. Just a clear route back to running, football, the gym, or whatever they love doing.

That’s what a proper plan does.
