When something hurts a lot, it’s easy to assume something's badly damaged - but pain doesn’t work that neatly.
It's influenced by loads of things: stress, sleep, previous experiences, how much you’ve been doing, how worried you are about it, how sensitive your nervous system is and much more, on top of what may actually be happening in the tissues.💪
**That doesn’t mean the pain isn’t real.** And pain doesn’t automatically mean you need an injection, scan, ultrasound, massage, manipulation or surgery.
Often, the best place to start is much simpler: **Get it assessed.**🤓
You should come away understanding what might be contributing to your pain, what you can do about it, and what treatment is actually appropriate for you.
And if the only plan is for someone to keep *doing things to you* without much discussion about what **you** can do too, it’s worth questioning whether you’re getting the right approach. There are no magic hands or magic treatments. None. Not a single research paper has found any, anywhere across the world. Nil. Or we'd all be doing it.
**Start with an assessment and understanding what’s going on.** 🧐
