Every family deserves clear choices and compassionate support when arranging a funeral.

Richard Mott from Bramcote Crematorium will share how one local authority is rethinking cremation services to meet the changing needs of communities in his talk, 'Your Cremation, Your Wishes, Your Way' – Caring, Local, Affordable Funeral Packages: A New Model for Local Authority Cremation Services, on Wednesday, 30th September at 11 am, at the ICCM Learning Conference & Exhibition 2026.

Richard will explain how a simple question from the public, "Why don't you offer a complete funeral service yourselves?", led to the development of an innovative local authority service designed to give families greater clarity, affordability and peace of mind, without compromising on dignity.

Drawing on his experience from frontline bereavement services through to his current role as Strategic and Business Development Manager, Richard will explore how local authorities can develop services that respond to changing expectations while continuing to support bereaved families with compassion.
