A lot of people worry they wouldn’t know what to do in an emergency.

That’s exactly why first aid training matters.

My training courses are designed to help people feel more confident, prepared and able to respond calmly when it matters most.

Would you step in and help?

A lot of people hesitate - not because they don't care, but because they're unsure.

In a cardiac arrest, doing something is always better than doing nothing.

If you're not trained, the emergency call handler will guide you through what to do.

First aid training helps build the confidence to act quickly and effectively when it matters most.

You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be willing to help.

A really important question 👇

Do you think women are less likely to receive CPR in an emergency?

Research shows that women are less likely to receive CPR from a bystander in an emergency.

Some of the reasons include:

• Lack of confidence
• Fear of doing something wrong
• Uncertainty about hand placement

In a cardiac arrest, CPR should be given regardless of gender.

Doing something is always better than doing nothing.

First aid training helps build the confidence to act when it matters most.

I recently delivered an Essential Life Support course for a group of Lubenham parishioners.

It was a really positive session, focusing on the key skills needed to respond confidently in an emergency — including CPR and how to recognise when someone needs help.

These sessions are all about building confidence, asking questions, and practising in a supportive environment.

The final part of the CPR series: infant CPR (under 1 year).

This is a simple demonstration for awareness and confidence-building only, not a substitute for full first aid training.

Infant CPR begins with 5 rescue breaths, followed by 30 chest compressions and 2 breaths.

Always check for a response and normal breathing, shout for help, and call 999 immediately in an emergency.

If you are not trained or don’t feel confident, follow the guidance of the emergency call handler.

In an emergency, what matters most is doing something — checking for a response, calling 999, and starting CPR if needed.

Confidence doesn’t come from memorising everything.
It comes from understanding the basics and being willing to act.

That’s what first aid training is really about.
