Maternal Mental Health Week đ¤
Maternal mental health matters â not just for you, but for your whole family. When you feel supported, heard, and cared for, it creates a stronger foundation for both you and your baby. Your wellbeing isnât a luxury, itâs essential.
Looking after your mental health in motherhood doesnât have to mean big, overwhelming changes. Often, itâs the small, consistent acts of care that make the biggest difference.
Here are some gentle ways to support yourself:
⢠Ask for help â and let yourself receive it. You donât have to do this alone, even if it feels like you âshouldâ.
⢠Prioritise rest and sleep where you can. Even small moments of rest count.
⢠Stay connected. A message, a call, a quick chat â youâre not meant to navigate this in isolation.
⢠Create small moments for you. A cup of tea in peace, a few minutes of quiet, something that feels like you.
⢠Get outside daily. Fresh air and a change of scenery can shift more than you expect.
⢠Limit comparison. Your journey is your own â social media rarely shows the full picture.
⢠Nourish your body. Eating regularly and staying hydrated supports both your physical and emotional wellbeing.
⢠Talk it out â donât keep it in. Sharing how you feel can lighten the load and help you feel understood.
You deserve support, space, and care too đ¤
