Six months of heel pain is not something you wait out.

If you’ve rested it, rolled it, bought the insoles and it’s still there first thing in the morning, the problem isn’t your patience. It’s that the tendon has stopped healing properly on its own.

Shockwave therapy is now available at ProPhysio. It’s a non-invasive treatment - acoustic waves delivered through the skin into the painful tendon to stimulate blood flow and restart a stalled repair process. No needles, no medication, and no time off your feet.

It’s used for plantar fasciitis, Achilles pain, tennis and golfer’s elbow, hip and glute tendon pain, and stubborn shoulder and knee pain.

It isn’t a magic button, and we won’t sell it to you if it’s not right. Every course starts with an assessment and runs alongside a rehab plan built for your body and your goals.

Remember that tightness through the front we talked about? Here's exactly how to fix it - no gym required 🛋️

All you need is a sofa and a cushion.

Kneel down, drop your back knee onto the cushion, then walk it further back so your bum gets closer to your heel - that's what deepens the stretch through the front of your hip.

Press back gently with your arms (not by pushing your rib cage forward - that's the bit most people get wrong), and once you've got that, add in a small side bend away from the stretching leg for even more length through the front.

Simple, but it makes a real difference to how your hip moves.

Give it a try and let us know how it feels 👇

So what did Eimear’s hip extension test actually show us? 👀

We loaded her hamstrings with a small bridge, checking that she could keep good pressure through the mid-foot the whole way up.

What we found was something we see all the time: a bit of an imbalance, some weakness through the glutes and hip extensors at the back, and some tightness through the front pulling the other way.

It's a really common combo, and it's exactly what limits how much hip extension you get (remember Eimear’s was sitting around 20°, when we'd like to see closer to 30°).

The good news? Build a bit more strength through the glutes and hammies, create a bit more length through the front, and explosive power becomes so much easier 💪

Next up: the simple exercises we gave Eimear to fix exactly this - stay tuned.

Training hard? Your recovery should work hard too.

It’s not about one big fix, it’s the small, consistent habits (like sleep, mobility, the right rehab) that will get you back to 100%.

Ever feel like your hip just won't fully open up when you walk or run? This is how we test that 🦴

This is a hip extension test and one of the simple checks we use to see how much movement is genuinely available at the hip, not just what your back or pelvis is compensating for.

Charlie keeps the pelvis supported and the back stable throughout, because it's easy to "cheat" this movement by arching through the lower back instead of extending from the hip itself.

Today we're testing Eimear, and the results might surprise you

If you've ever wondered why your hips feel tight or "stuck," this test is often where we start.

📲 Curious what your own hip mobility looks like? Book an assessment through the link in bio and check back to see the results in our next video.
