We are looking to gain feedback on the impact of social media during pregnancy and/or postpartum. So grab a cuppa, settle in and we would hugely appreciate your help by filling out out survey:
https://forms.gle/cesrejHPeEQZbf4g7
If you are pregnant, have been pregnant or have given birth in the last 2 years we would love to hear how you found social media use during that time. We aim to share these results with NHS Grampian staff so that together we can find ways to best support you and others through that journey.

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค Happy International day of the Midwife ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’œ

Happy International Day Of the Midwife to all of the North Team, our Midwife colleagues in other teams and hospitals as well as all of the Student Midwives we work with every day ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

We are so lucky to work alongside women and their families to empower them for birth and care for them throughout pregnancy and postnatally ๐Ÿคฐ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿค

We are even luckier to have a place where our colleagues are like family and we care for each other as well โค๏ธ

โ€œI'm a Midwife and I'm proud
But there's no need to say it loud
Midwives see sadness, give kindness
See happiness and pain
-support women and families
Some who lose-some who gain
There are many facets to our role
And being 'with woman' is in our souls
To be present as a child arrives
-is a true honour in our eyes
We hope. We give. We cry.
We care We are so privileged to just 'be there
It sounds a cliche buts it is true
There's NOTHING else I'd rather doโ€

Sharing for our colleague Mo -

Iโ€™d really appreciate it if you could pass on the research flyer below to any pregnant women (in Aberdeenshire) you know who might be interested.

As the flyer is shared as an image, the links on it arenโ€™t clickable, so Iโ€™ve included the full links in the post/comments below as well.

Thank you so much for your supportโ€”it really is appreciated ๐ŸŒฑ

Hereโ€™s what to expect with your baby movements ๐Ÿคฐ๐Ÿผ

One of the most reassuring parts of pregnancy is feeling your baby move ๐Ÿค itโ€™s amazing to feel - and sometimes kind of strange ๐Ÿ˜‚ - but no matter how you feel about it, itโ€™s very important to be aware of them

โœจ Most women start to feel movements between 16โ€“24 weeks

โœจ Movements should gradually become more regular and stronger

โœจ By 32 weeks your baby will be in a pattern of daily movements and this should continue up until your baby is born

โœจ Every baby has their own pattern โ€” get to know yours and donโ€™t compare to others

๐Ÿšจ Trust your instincts

If your babyโ€™s movements feel reduced, different, or youโ€™re worried at all โ€” donโ€™t wait.

Contact your the maternity hospital straight away (not your own Midwife who may not be working) ๐Ÿ“ž

You are never wasting anyoneโ€™s time.

If it is between 8am and 6:30pm we will likely check you over in Peterhead, if it is outwith those times or there are other risk factors in your pregnancy then we may direct you to Aberdeen Maternity Hospital ๐Ÿฅ
