Balance, Strength & Confidence 💪⚖️

Come behind the scenes at our Balance & Strength class 👋

In this vlog, we’re showing you what a typical session looks like, from balance challenges and strengthening exercises to activities designed to improve confidence, movement and everyday function.

But the best part? Hearing directly from one of our patients about his experience with the class and the difference it has made for him. 🗣️

Our classes are about more than just exercise — they’re about building strength, improving confidence and helping people feel more capable in their day-to-day lives.

🏋️ Want to improve your deadlift?

These three exercises can help develop the strength and control that support a stronger, more efficient lift.

1️⃣ Romanian Deadlift – Build hamstring and posterior chain strength while improving your hip hinge.

2️⃣ Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift – Improve balance, hip stability and reduce strength imbalances.

3️⃣ Hip Thrust – Strengthen your glutes to improve power through lockout.

Remember, these exercises work best as part of a well-structured strength programme alongside practising your deadlift technique.

Strong hips are the foundation for better movement. 💪

Whether you’re dealing with hip pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to improve your performance, these 4 more advanced exercises that can help build strength, stability, and control.

🏋️‍♂️ Try these:
1️⃣ Banded lateral walks
2️⃣ Standing banded hip abduction
3️⃣ Single-leg stance stepping (frontal & sagittal planes)
4️⃣ Single-leg bias RDL with a twist

The goal isn’t just to make your hips stronger—it’s to improve how they control movement during everyday activities and sport.

✨ Focus on slow, controlled reps and maintain good technique throughout. Quality always beats quantity.

Have you tried any of these before? Let us know which one challenges you the most! 👇

Strong knees aren’t built with just the basics. 💪🦵

Here are 3 more advanced exercises to help improve knee strength, stability, and control:

✅ Spanish Squat – Great for building quad strength while reducing stress on the knee joint.
✅ Heel Raises in a Wall Sit – Challenges both your calf strength and lower limb endurance while maintaining knee stability.
✅ Front Leg Raised Lunges – Improves single-leg strength, balance, and control through a greater range of motion.

These exercises are ideal once you’ve built a solid foundation and are looking to progress your rehab or strengthen your knees for sport and everyday life.

⚠️ Remember: The “best” exercise is the one that’s appropriate for your current stage of recovery. If any exercise significantly increases your pain, it may need modifying.

Save this post for your next leg session, and send it to someone who’s working on stronger knees! 👊

🦵 Three exercises to help your wobbly hip!

If your hip feels unstable, weak, or you notice it dropping during walking, running, or single-leg activities, these exercises can help improve strength and control around the hip.

✅ Banded Glute Bridge
✅ Standing Isometric Hip Abduction Against a Wall
✅ Ball/Pillow Squeeze in Sitting

These exercises target the muscles that help stabilise your pelvis and hip, improving control and reducing unwanted movement.

Start with 2–3 sets of 20–30 second holds (or 5-10 reps for the bridges) and focus on quality over quantity.

Save this reel for later and give these a try! 💪

⚠️ Remember: not every hip problem is caused by weakness, so if symptoms persist, get assessed by a member of our team!
