This article really hit home for me.

As a massage therapist, I have experienced inappropriate comments and behaviour from clients myself. Unfortunately, it is something that happens in our industry more than people realise.

I think there is still a misconception that because we are massage therapists, certain comments, jokes or behaviour are somehow acceptable. They’re not.

We are there to do a professional job. We are not there to be sexualised, made uncomfortable or treated like anything other than a professional providing a treatment.

It can be really difficult in the moment knowing how to respond, especially when you don't want to cause a scene or offend someone. But why should we have to feel like that in our own place of work?

Our treatment rooms should be somewhere we feel safe, just as our clients should feel safe with us.

I really hope that more awareness and better safeguarding comes from conversations like this. It shouldn't just be something therapists have to deal with and keep quiet about.

To all the massage therapists who have experienced this – you are not alone, and it isn't "just part of the job." ❤️

Ffion Price says she has started carrying a r**e alarm and even had one physical experience which put her in a "very vulnerable situation".

The 20-year-old has years of professional training, but was never told what to do if a man was aroused or inappropriate.

She decided to become self-employed, and says she has had to "figure out the hard way" how to do things differently when a male client comes in.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Every treatment you've booked, every recommendation you've made, and every bit of trust you've placed in me has helped me and my business grow into something I could only dream of.

Because of your incredible support, I am so excited to announce that I'm moving into my very own treatment space! 🤍

This new location will give me the opportunity to create an even more relaxing, peaceful environment where you can truly switch off, unwind, and enjoy the self-care you deserve.
