βοΈ **Attending a Funeral During the Current Heatwave** βοΈ
With temperatures remaining high across the UK, we would like to gently remind those attending funeral services to take extra care of themselves and others.
While many people understandably wish to wear traditional funeral attire, it is perfectly acceptable to choose lighter, breathable clothing that remains respectful and appropriate for the occasion. Dark colours are not essential if the heat makes them uncomfortable.
Please remember to:
π§ Bring water and stay hydrated
𧴠Apply sunscreen if any part of the service is outdoors
πΆοΈ Consider a hat or sunglasses when appropriate
π³ Seek shade where possible and take care if you feel unwell
We would also like to acknowledge our funeral teams, celebrants, drivers, bearers and cemetery and crematorium staff, who continue to carry out their duties with professionalism and dignity while wearing formal uniforms in challenging temperatures.
A little patience, understanding and kindness towards everyone working in these conditions is greatly appreciated.
Our thoughts remain with all the families we are privileged to support during this warm weather. Please take care of yourselves and one another.
