According to the latest National Patient Survey, Quay Lane Surgery has been ranked the best practice in Cornwall for patient experience.
An amazing 98% of patients who responded to the survey said they had a good overall experience with our practice.

A quick update for our patients
Unfortunately, due to staff sickness coinciding with planned annual leave, we are currently having to rearrange a number of our HCA appointments and clinics.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate that changes to appointments can be disruptive. Please bear with us while we work through the necessary alterations and contact affected patients.

☀️ Heatwave Advice – Stay Cool, Stay Safe ☀️
With temperatures rising, remember to:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing curtains during the day
🌳 Stay in the shade and avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm
👕 Wear loose, light-coloured clothing and sunscreen
👥 Check on elderly relatives, neighbours, and vulnerable friends
⚠️ Signs of heat exhaustion include dizziness, headache, feeling sick, and excessive sweating. Move to a cool place, drink water, and cool down.
🚨 Call 999 if someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, or shows signs of heatstroke.

The yellow heat-health alert for the South West has been escalated to an amber alert from 9am on Wednesday, July 8 until 9pm on Sunday, July 12.

The hot weather could have serious impacts on older people, young children and those with long-term health conditions.

Please take extra care by keeping cool, drinking plenty of water, and checking in on anyone who may need extra support.

If you're heading to the coast or inland waters, remember that the water can still be dangerously cold. Choose lifeguarded beaches where possible and take care when entering the water.

Practice Closure Notice
On Wednesday 24th June, our practice and dispensary will close at 12:00 noon to allow for vital staff training and local service planning.
If you have a medical emergency, please call 999.
If you require urgent medical attention that cannot wait until we reopen at 08:30 on Thursday 25th June, please call the surgery on 01503 230088. Your call will be transferred to our call handling service, who will advise you accordingly.

🚗 Car Park Safety Notice 🚗
We’d like to kindly remind all patients and visitors to take extra care when using our car park.
Over the past month, we have unfortunately had three incidents where vehicles have rolled down the hill due to handbrakes not being fully secured, resulting in damage after hitting the wall.
To help keep everyone safe, please remember to:
✅ Fully apply your handbrake
✅ Leave your car in gear (or ‘park’ for automatics)
✅ Double-check your vehicle is secure before leaving it

Our dispensary will be closed and our telephones will not be coming through to our teams.
