🌱Woodcroft Residents Grow Something Special Together🌱

Residents at Woodcroft Residential Care Home enjoyed a wonderfully productive morning in Gardening Club, as they began to see the real fruits of their labour. Over the past few weeks, they have been carefully nurturing plants grown from seeds and bulbs, and this morning those young plants were repotted into larger containers to help them continue to thrive.

The group also spent time sweeping, weeding, refreshing compost, and planting a selection of vegetables in one of the raised beds — all in preparation for the growing season ahead.

It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy the fresh air, and take pride in seeing the garden take shape through their hard work and teamwork.

🌼 Well done to all involved — we can’t wait to watch everything continue to grow! 🌼

💜 A Musical Treat at New Fairholme, Oswestry 💜

New Fairholme were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from Pave Aways Ltd who visited the home to sing for residents in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. 🎼

The room was filled with music, laughter, dancing and plenty of singing along. Some residents were even moved to tears as the songs brought back cherished memories — a truly touching moment for everyone present.

A heartfelt thank you to the whole Pave Aways team for such a meaningful and uplifting visit. It really did make the day extra special for residents and staff alike. 💜✨

💚 World Environment Day at Woodcroft, Market Drayton 💚

Residents at Woodcroft celebrated World Environment Day by getting creative with an eco‑friendly craft project — recycling old glass bottles and transforming them into beautiful handmade lamps.

Using decorative napkins and energy‑saving LED lights, they designed unique pieces that were both sustainable and stylish. The activity not only encouraged creativity but also gave new life to items that might otherwise have been thrown away.

These lovely lamps will be available to purchase at the upcoming Summer Fayre, with all proceeds going directly into the Activities Fund to support more enriching experiences for residents.

Well done to everyone involved — the finished pieces look fantastic. Even the staff, including Manager Michelle, couldn’t resist joining in the fun! 💚✨

Coverage Care Announces the Appointment of Two Co‑opted Non‑Executive Directors

Nigel Harrison – Co‑opted Non‑Executive Director
Nigel’s career journey spans engineering, law and senior management. After originally training as a Mechanical Engineer and working in industry for many years, he retrained and qualified as a Solicitor in 1998.

For nearly 30 years, Nigel specialised in employment law with a respected local firm, becoming part of its senior management team before retiring from legal practice in 2024. He brings extensive experience in governance, people leadership and organisational oversight.

Nigel has also served as a school governor and currently sits on the management board of a large not‑for‑profit organisation supporting young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties. Outside of work, he is married with two adult sons and enjoys hiking, cycling and fly fishing.

Rakhee Aggarwal – Co‑opted Non‑Executive Director

With over 20 years’ senior leadership experience across the NHS and higher education, Rakhee brings exceptional board‑level expertise in governance, people and culture, and organisational transformation.

She has served as a Non‑Executive Director at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and South Western Ambulance Service, where she was recognised for providing insightful challenge and meaningful assurance grounded in data, staff insight and visible engagement.

A specialist in workforce strategy, cultural improvement and equity, Rakhee has chaired People and Culture Committees and leads a regional Midlands workstream focused on strengthening belonging and retention for minority ethnic students and staff.

Rakhee is also Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Birmingham City University, driving large‑scale workforce and inclusion initiatives. As a registered mental health nurse and proud Midlands resident, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her leadership.

A Shared Commitment to Coverage Care

Both Rakhee and Nigel bring a powerful combination of professional expertise, lived experience and values‑driven leadership. Their insight will strengthen our governance, support our workforce and help us continue delivering compassionate, inclusive and high‑quality care to the communities we serve.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Rakhee Aggarwal and Nigel — we are thrilled to have them join the Coverage Care family.

Today we celebrated the retirement of our wonderful Chris Fair after an incredible 48 years at Coverage Cares Woodcroft Residential Care Homet in Market Drayton.

Chris was honoured with a long‑service award from our directors in recognition of his dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment over nearly five decades. As our maintenance man, Chris was always there whenever anyone needed help and made sure every job was done to perfection. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him.

Loved by staff and residents alike, Chris has been such a huge part of Woodcroft and will be deeply missed by everyone.

Thank you for everything, Chris. We wish you and your wife Sue a long, happy, and well‑deserved retirement. 💙

The lovely sunny weather seems to be sparking creativity all across our Coverage Care homes — and Montgomery House is no exception. Residents have been getting wonderfully crafty, painting pebbles collected from the beach and turning them into bright, cheerful little masterpieces.

It’s moments like these that show the heart of our Coverage Care community: sunshine, imagination, and residents enjoying meaningful activities together. The colours are vibrant, the laughter is contagious, and the creativity is truly shining across all our homes 🎨🌞💛
