In Loving Memory of Harry Stapleton

Harry, of Woodcock Way, South Elmsall, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday 13th August, age 76.

A much-loved husband to Maggie, cherished dad to Tina, Lee, Tracy, Ricky, Kim, Toni and Craig, and a loving grandad to Owen, Rebekka, Brandon, Ricky Lee, Libby, Lucy, Earl, Lennon, Jude, Lydia, Esta and Lottie.

Harry was also a treasured great grandad to Margot and Thea, and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

Harry’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Friday 4th September at 10.20am.

Family flowers only please. Donations are respectfully requested in lieu of flowers, with all proceeds gratefully received by Parkinson’s UK. A collection box will be available outside the crematorium following the service.

Following the service, all who knew Harry are welcome to join his family at the Gantry in Upton where refreshments will be served.

In Loving Memory of James Edward Booth

Jim, resident of Warde Aldam Care Home in South Elmsall, passed away peacefully at Pinderfields Hospital on Friday 7th August, aged 80.

A cherished dad of Claire and a loving grandad and great grandad who will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

Jim’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Thursday 3rd September at 11am.

Family flowers only please. Donations are respectfully requested in lieu of flowers and all proceeds will be gratefully received by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. A collection box will be available outside the crematorium after the service.

Following the service all who knew Jim are invited back to the Minsthorpe to raise a glass in his memory.

In Loving Memory of Molly Vandeleur

Molly, of Moorhouse Court Mews in South Elmsall, sadly passed away at Rotherham Hospital on Tuesday 4th August, aged 92. Devoted wife of the late John, beloved mum to Christopher and cherished Grandma to Emma. Molly will be missed by all who knew her.

Molly’s Funeral Service will take place at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday 2nd September at 10:30. The Service will be followed by the committal at Pontefract Crematorium.

Family flowers only please; donations to Macmillan Cancer Support & Cancer Research Uk are welcomed in lieu of flowers. A donation box will be available at the church and the crematorium.

Following the Service, all those who knew Molly are warmly invited for refreshments at The Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel.

Anyone who is unable to make it to the crematorium is still more than welcome to meet that family at the Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel.

‘Smokey’

In Loving Memory of Ernest Edwards

Ernie known by many as Smokey, sadly passed away at Elm Park Care Home in Doncaster on Saturday 25th July, aged 86.

A devoted husband of the late Linda, cherished dad of Lorraine and much loved father in law of Mick. A loving grandad of Charlotte, Callum and Kieran and great grandad of Carys, Harvey, Connley, Caiah, Cauley, Ariella and Ceira. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ernie’s funeral service will take place at St Luke’s Church in Moorthorpe at 10.30am on Thursday 20th August followed by the committal at Pontefract Crematorium.

Family flowers only please. Donations to Yorkshire Air Ambulance are welcome in lieu of flowers. A collection box will be available at the exit of the church after the service.

Following the service Ernie’s family extend a warm invite to all who knew him, to join them in sharing memories and refreshments at the Junction in South Elmsall.

In Loving Memory of Leanne Hepworth

Leanne, of Convent Avenue in South Kirkby, sadly passed away at Pinderfields Hospital on Monday 27th July, aged 45.

A dear daughter of the later Ray and Kath. Cherished mam of Ben and Millie. Much moved nannan of Kai. Also a beloved sister, auntie and friend of Gavin, Kerrie, Vicki, Ryan, Connar, Mick, Anita, Josh, Harvey, Finley and Logan.

Leanne’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Thursday 13th August at 12.20pm. Attendees are invited to wear a purple coloured item of clothing.

Family flowers only please. Donations are welcome in lieu of flowers. A collection box will be outside the crematorium chapel after the service and all proceeds will be gratefully received by the Prince of Wales Hospice.

Following the service, Leanne’s family invite all who knew her to join them at the Barnsley Oak in South Elmsall where refreshments will be available.

Jim, of Grange Avenue in South Elmsall, passed away at Pinderfields Hospital on Thursday 9th July, aged 89.

A devoted husband of Janice. Cherished dad of David. Dear grandad of Jasmine. And loving great grandad of Sam and Harry. A loved character who will be missed dearly by all who knew him, especially his football family at Frickley Athletic FC.

Jim’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Friday 7th August at 1pm.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to Frickley Athletic FC can be left in the donation box located outside the crematorium chapel after the service.

Attendees are invited to dress casual and wear an item of blue if possible.

Irene, of Fenton Close in South Kirkby, passed away peacefully at the Prince of Wales Hospice on Saturday 11th July, aged 82.

A devoted wife of 61 years to Roy who will be missed dearly by her children; Shaun andJoanne, and also her grandchildren; Joseph, Lydia, Jacob, Sam, Robert and Becky. Loved and adored by all.

Irene’s funeral service will take place at All Saints Church, South Kirkby on Monday 3rd August 2026 at 11am. Followed by the committal at Carr Lane Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations to the Prince of Wales Hospice, in recognition of the help and support they offered Irene and her family, are respectfully requested in lieu of flowers. A collection box will be placed by the church door after the service.
