๐Ÿšจ NHS Scam Alert: Fake NHS App Registration Calls ๐Ÿšจ

We are urging residents to stay vigilant following reports of scam phone calls claiming to be from the NHS.

โ˜Ž๏ธ Victims receive a call, often from a mobile number beginning with 07, featuring a recorded message advising them to press a button to keep access to their GP or local practitioner and to set up a "new NHS mobile app".

โš ๏ธ Remember:

โœ… The NHS will never cold call you asking you to press buttons to keep access to your GP services.
โœ… Scammers may try to obtain personal information, banking details, passwords, or security codes.
โœ… Phone numbers can be spoofed, making calls appear genuine.
โœ… Fraudsters often create a sense of urgency to pressure people into acting quickly.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ How to Protect Yourself

โ€ข Contact your GP surgery directly using a trusted number if you are concerned.
โ€ข Do not press any buttons during unexpected calls.
โ€ข Hang up immediately if you are unsure who is calling.
โ€ข Never share personal, financial, or security information over the phone.
โ€ข Talk to friends, family members, and vulnerable relatives about scam awareness.
โ— If You Have Already Engaged with the Caller
โ€ข Contact your bank immediately if you shared any personal or financial information.
โ€ข Monitor your accounts for unusual activity.

โ€ข Report the incident to Report Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or online at www.reportfraud.police.uk.
๐Ÿ”„ Please help protect our community by sharing this warning with others.

Have your say on the future of healthcare in Norfolk and Waveney

Healthwatch Norfolk is working with the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group to find out what local people think healthcare should look like over the next 10 to 20 years.

They want to hear from people across Norfolk and Waveney, whether or not you have recently used hospital services.

The questionnaire asks about your experiences of healthcare, what matters to you when accessing hospital services and your views on how care could be delivered in the future.

Complete the questionnaire:
https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/t/TheFutureOfHealthcareInNorfolkAndWaveney/

The questionnaire closes on 6 November 2026.

Many thanks for your support.

โœ‚๏ธ Cuts and wounds that may need stitches
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Minor infections and illnesses
๐Ÿœ Insect bites and stings

Have your say on the future of local healthcare โฌ‡๏ธ

This questionnaire is to gather views from local people to help inform its new clinical strategy.
This will look at how hospital services could develop over the next 10-20 years across the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn and the James Paget University Hospital.

They want to hear from as wide a range of people as possible, including people who have recently used hospital services, people who support or care for someone who has used them and people who may need hospital care in the future.

Staying active as you get older can help you maintain your independence, improve your balance, strengthen your muscles and bones, reduce your risk of falls, and boost your mental wellbeing. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

The NHS recommends that older adults should:
โ€ข Aim to be physically active every day.
โ€ข Do activities that improve strength at least twice a week.
โ€ข Include exercises that improve balance and flexibility, especially if you're at risk of falling.
โ€ข Reduce the amount of time spent sitting by getting up and moving regularly. ๐Ÿ’ช

You don't have to join a gym to stay active. Walking, gardening, dancing, swimming, gentle exercise classes or even doing household chores all count towards a healthier lifestyle. ๐ŸŒผ

Small changes can make a big difference to your health, confidence and quality of life. Why not start today? โค๏ธ

Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK, but when it's found early, it's much easier to treat. That's why the NHS offers bowel cancer screening to people who are eligible. ๐Ÿ’ฉ

The screening test is simple, quick and can be done in the privacy of your own home. It looks for tiny amounts of blood in your poo that you may not be able to see yourself. ๐Ÿ

If you receive your bowel cancer screening kit through the post, don't put it to one side โ€“ complete it and return it as soon as you can. Even if you feel fit and healthy and have no symptoms, taking part in screening can help detect problems early. โœ…

If you notice symptoms such as blood in your poo, a persistent change in your bowel habits, unexplained weight loss or ongoing tummy pain, don't wait for your screening invitationโ€”contact your GP. ๐Ÿ“ž

Taking a few minutes to complete your test could make all the difference. ๐Ÿ’™
