We’re looking for an inspiring Service Manager to lead our Services to Education team, driving service excellence, supporting a multidisciplinary workforce, and building strong partnerships with schools, academies, and local authorities.

“But they did it yesterday..” 💭

One of the biggest myths we hear in paediatric OT is that if a child can do something sometimes, they should be able to do it all the time.

But consistency isn’t always simple.

A child’s ability can change from moment to moment depending on:
✨ Sensory overload
✨ Fatigue
✨ Anxiety
✨ Environment
✨ Emotional regulation demands

Sometimes children are working twice as hard just to cope with what’s happening around them.. even if it doesn’t look that way on the outside.

So when a child can manage something one day but struggles the next, it doesn’t mean they’re being difficult, lazy, or choosing not to try. It often means their nervous system is overwhelmed.

Understanding the “why” behind behaviour helps us respond with support instead of frustration 💙
