Free Atrial Fibrillation (AF) screening
AF is an irregular heart rhythm that affects up to 1 in 10 people and becomes more common as we get older. Many people have no symptoms at all, so they may not know they have it.
AF can increase the risk of stroke, but early detection can help reduce this risk. Some people notice palpitations, breathlessness or dizziness – many notice nothing
❤️ We’re offering a quick and simple test using a small hand‑held device
❤️ The test only takes a few minutes
No appointment needed – just drop in Part of the Age Without Limits event Wednesday 10 June 10am–2pm Ayr Town Hall
❤️ If no AF is detected, you’ll be reassured on the day
❤️ If AF is suggested, your result will be shared with the stroke service at University Hospital
Crosshouse, who will contact you to arrange follow‑up and discuss next steps.
Pop along while you’re there - it’s a small check that could make a big difference.
