Optometrist in the making 🤓🌟 We have some wonderful news to share! 🌟

You may remember seeing this friendly face on Saturdays and during the holidays. Immy has been part of the Ibuntu family for the past 18 months, and during that time, she has developed a real passion for a career in optics.

We are absolutely delighted to share that Immy has successfully secured a place at Plymouth University to study Optometry! 👏🎓👓

It has been truly joyful having Immy work with us and watching her grow, develop and discover a passion for a career that we have no doubt she will absolutely excel in.

From all of us in the Ibuntu family, we would like to wish Immy every success as she takes this exciting next step and begins building her career in optometry.

Congratulations, Immy! We’re so proud of you and wish you all the very best for this exciting new chapter! 💙👓✨

With Cornwall being cited as one of the best places in the UK to view the partial solar eclipse, there has been some panic as solar eclipse glasses have sold out across Cornwall.

But the most important thing to remember is this: never look directly at the Sun during an eclipse. Regular sunglasses — no matter how dark or high-quality they are — do not provide enough protection for your eyes.

So, if you haven’t managed to get eclipse glasses, don’t panic. There are safe ways to enjoy the eclipse without looking directly at the Sun.

It’s strange to think how many stories these walls have already seen before us.

We had a guest in who brought us these lovely images and shared such lovely stories with us about his family business that used to occupy the building for over 100years. I am not sure how many people remember Brewers.

One of the photographs shows his grandpa and his dad at the entrance.

Long before we were here, this building was home to another business, other people, other memories — and one day, it will tell stories about us too. We only occupy a small moment in time, just one chapter in the life of this place.

Seeing these old photos is a reminder that while businesses change, communities evolve, and generations move on, the memories created inside these walls leave their mark forever.

We’re proud to be part of this building’s history, even if only for a little while. ❤️
