Here's your reminder to keep drinking plenty of water, especially in this heat!

Muscle is made up of approximately 75% water!
Drinking enough is important as this is what aids transporting nutrients through the body and waste being removed. Some is lots through sweating.

Drinking enough also helps to prevent heatstroke, muscle cramps and helps to maintain body temperature.

Claire is a regular who runs and lifts weights regularly.

Today I treated lower back, glutes and hips (which were VERY tight!!!)

Sarah has weekly 30 minute treatments to stay on top of her shoulder pain and to help with her posture while she is busy at work food prepping, cooking and running Cafe 19 in Wakefield.

Treatment begins with chest and then on to the neck and then shoulders, particularly focusing on the Rhomboids and Levator Scapula.

Sports Massaging these areas helps to keep the shoulders back and in the correct position, this is needed for Sarah with her being in a similar position most of the day while at work.

Benefits of treatment are improved posture and neck and shoulder pain/tension relief.

Good luck to Sam competing in his first Thai Boxing fight on Saturday 💪

Sam has a half an hour treatment once a month on his shoulders, including rotator cuffs, to release the build up of tension, aid his mobility and prevent injury for his MMA training.

Regular treatment catches the tension early before it causes pain and reduces mobility.

I am sure you can see from the image which area I have treated today.. 😆

Jermaine has an hours Sports Massage every 2 weeks, alternating areas each time.
Today he was suffering with neck tension due to a lot of driving and sitting at his computer for work.
I started with Jermaine's chest which is sometimes over looked by some when it comes to neck tension. A tight chest means the chest muscles are shortened which rounds the shoulders, this leads to bad posture and puts strain on the neck.
I then treated his neck in a seated position, this is the most effective way of stretching the muscle leading up from the shoulder to the top of the neck. I finished the remainder of the session with a deep tissue massage of the full back and shoulders.

Beth makes regular appointments to support her main goal which is running.. running as much as possible! 😁

Recent treatments have included ligaments, calves and tendons, a change of footwear unfortunatley lead to some issues for Beth. I also treat her hamstrings and hips on occasion to aid her running.

With a marathon coming up, Beth has prepared in advance to have treatment in the weeks leading up it to make sure she is pain free and in the best condition on the day 🏃‍♀️

A posture to be proud of!

Oliver has treatments every 2 weeks, alternating upper body and lower body.
Regular treatments increases mobility, corrects posture and significantly reduces risk of injury both in the gym and out of it.
