Week 1 / Cycle 7 / Day 3 - heavy press / 8,5,2

Standing overhead press: 55 kg 5 x 3
Flat bench: 81.2 kg x 8,7,6 (1 rep PB last set)
Incline dumbbell press: 23.5 kg's 3x6
Decline dumbbell press: 23.5 kg's 3x6

I may be carrying some extra timber round the waist, but my bench is going up, which it wouldn't be if I were leaner/lighter.

Since weight on the bar is the main driver of muscle growth... 📈 🤫

Another week of 35°c temperatures coming up.

Who else is contemplating air conditioning for the home—especially if summer's like this becomes the norm?

On a positive note, it's lush travelling to the beach and cooling off in the sea! 🥵🏖️😎

200 Ib body weight before breakfast approx 20% body fat (based on old school measuring methods—not DEXA).

Don't know about you guys but I've really struggled with the big compound lifts in the heat this week, likely due to 'central fatigue' (your brain doesn't want you getting heat stroke, so makes perceived exertion feel much greater) and only having an Argos fan to cool down. 😆

Seeing as though my brain and body are operating under a state of autoregulation, I've poured more effort into accessories this week, and achieved some PBs on chest supported rows and biceps today! 💪🏻

On a side note, a cooling hood can be used to reduce central fatigue (one of my MSc lecturers did his PhD in developing these) as well as cooling down your groin and feet. Having air conditioning would be a great help also!
