Our Hull Mental Health Support Teams are working in Family Hubs over the summer to increase family engagement and raise awareness of mental health through their Emotional Wellbeing Drop In events.

The events will be offering fun, creative activities at Family Hub locations across the city to help children and their families connect and unwind together.

The summer holidays are a perfect opportunity for the Mental Health Support Team to engage with children and families, build connections with local communities and raise awareness.

Our Mental Health Support Teams attended a local summer holiday support event today, alongside TEAL Careers, schools and community organisations.

The event, which took place at the Freedom Centre in Hull, brought together a range of services and support on one site, helping families prepare for the summer holidays by providing information, advice and access to useful resources.

It was great to meet so many children, young people and families, share information about the support available, and connect with other organisations working to make a positive difference in our communities.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us.

Is your child getting ready to start secondary school? We're here to support them.

The move from primary to secondary school is a significant milestone for children and their families. While it's an exciting time, it's also completely normal for young people to experience worries or uncertainty about the changes ahead.

Mental Health Support Teams are able to help make that transition as positive as possible by offering practical advice, strategies to build confidence and opportunities for families to ask questions in a relaxed and supportive environment.

A Display Celebrating Belonging 🍃

Earlier this year, for Children’s Mental Health Week, schools across the East Riding were invited to design leaves representing what it means to belong to their school community, inspired by the theme "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself" and the importance of belonging.

We’re delighted to share that these wonderful creations have now come together in a beautiful display at Beverley Library, showcasing pupils’ thoughts, creativity and sense of community.

A huge thank you to Burlington Junior School and Flamborough Primary School for creating and contributing their fantastic leaves to the display. 💚
