What a wonderful day at St Giles View's Summer Fair on Saturday!

From the warm weather and fun games to try out to the delicious food and fantastic entertainment, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Most importantly, it was a joy to spend the day in such wonderful company.

Resident June Butler plays a key role in our interview process as on Tuesday, we welcomed Trizia who had applied for a care assistant position.

Although Triza was very nervous, having never worked in care before, June's warm handshake and encouragement made all the difference especially when she offered her the position.

Triza shared how our supportive approach helped her feel relaxed and truly welcomed - and she's excited to join the Brendoncare family.

๐ŸŒŸ Congratulations, Xander! ๐ŸŒŸ

At St Giles View, all our colleagues are winners in our eyes, but we are especially delighted to celebrate Xander, who has been recognised with an Extra Care Award. ๐Ÿ†

Although he's only been with us for a few months, Xander has already made a lasting impression with his kindness, compassion and dedication to our residents.

His award citation says:

"He is always willing to stop and engage with residents, finding common interests and topics of conversation. His patience is endless and no matter what is presented to him, he never becomes flustered; always finding a solution to the situation."

As the citation goes on to say, Xander is a credit to Brendoncare and particularly to St Giles View.

๐Ÿž Freshly Baked at St Giles View! ๐Ÿž

We love a bit of baking here at St Giles View, so we were delighted when residents rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into making their own bread.

From mixing and kneading to the wonderful aroma filling the home, it was a fantastic activity that everyone enjoyed. And as you can see, the finished loaves looked absolutely delicious!

Well done to all our resident bakers โ€“ we think they did a fantastic job. ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Bringing Residents Together at SGV

Our Friday Lunch has quickly become one of the most popular events on the SGV calendar, so we were delighted to welcome Brendoncare Chief Executive Michael Crutchley to enjoy a meal with us.

During his visit, Michael met residents and our wonderful catering team, who help make the lunches such a success each week.

The club was the brainchild of our receptionist, Bally, who wanted to create an opportunity for residents to enjoy a meal together, build connections and make new friends. Judging by the smiles around the table, it's safe to say the idea has been a tremendous success!

We were so lucky with the weather today! ๐ŸŒค๏ธ After some overnight rain, the sun came out to give us a beautifully warm day โ€” perfect for our garden BBQ party.

Residents and their loved ones enjoyed dining al fresco in our glorious garden. Our fantastic wellbeing and catering teams truly outdid themselves with a delicious spread of fresh salads, sizzling hot dogs, and juicy burgers that went down an absolute treat!

A special thank you to our wonderful friend, saxophonist Hannah Sparkles, who filled the garden with a fantastic selection of our favourite tunes. This was followed by a bingo session to round off the afternoon.๐ŸŽทโœจ
