Flip-flops: easy to reach for and wear, but not always so easy on your body 🩴

With little support underfoot, your feet and toes can end up working harder than you realise, and that can have a knock-on effect further up the body.

If your feet, ankles, knees or lower back have been feeling the effects of flip-flops this summer, it might be time for a check-in.

Give us a call and let’s get you Back2Normal 🙌

Chiropractic care has been found to help with pain and cramping during menstruation, as well as stress and inflammation.

Joint manipulation (e.g, adjustments) and soft tissue work (e.g., massage) can provide immediate relief to symptoms like cramping or lower back pain. They can even reduce the number of cramping episodes during a cycle.

As well as physical relief, chiro care works to alleviate the mental and emotional stress during this time, by impacting our central nervous system. This can provide us with easier and more stable periods.

Have you tried chiropractic care for your periods? If not, come and see us for a consultation!

You’ve heard the pop… but what’s actually happening? 👀

That ‘pop’ or ‘crack’ you sometimes hear during an adjustment is called cavitation, a change in pressure within the joint that causes gas to rapidly release from the joint fluid.

But here’s the important part: the pop isn’t the purpose of the adjustment.

Chiropractic adjustments may be used to help improve joint movement, reduce stiffness and support how your body moves and functions, and sometimes they make a sound, sometimes they don’t.

And adjustments are only one part of what we do at Back2Normal. Depending on what you need, your treatment may also include soft tissue work, mobility and movement strategies, rehabilitation exercises and advice to help address what may be contributing to the problem.

So yes, the pops can be satisfying 😏 But there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes.

How many single-leg calf raises can you do?

This one’s been getting a few people involved in the clinic lately. Find your age group, and give it a go!

Calf raises might be a simple movement, but they have plenty of benefits:

💪 Build calf strength — working the gastrocnemius and soleus, the two main muscles that make up the calf.
🦶 Support ankle stability — your calf muscles help control movement around the ankle and contribute to stability through the lower leg.
⚖️ Improve balance & control — particularly with single-leg raises, which add an extra stability and coordination component.
🚶 Support walking & running — your calves play an important role in pushing you forward with each step.
🏃 Build lower-leg endurance — useful for everyday movement as well as running, jumping and other physical activities.

Let us know if you give it a try and be sure to ask one of our chiropractors next time you’re in for any help needed!

Your diaphragm is one of the hardest-working muscles in your body, used around 10,000+ times a day, and it does a lot more than just help you breathe 👀

It plays an important role in coughing, sneezing and even blowing your nose, while also working alongside your core and pelvic floor to help stabilise your body.

When it isn’t working as efficiently as it could, other muscles may start picking up the slack, particularly around the neck, shoulders and upper chest, potentially contributing to tension in these areas.

It’s a muscle we rarely think about, but one our chiropractors do! Which is why diaphragm function is assessed as part of our standard examination. 🙌

Pain relief can be an important part of feeling better, but what happens when the same pain keeps coming back?

Chiropractic care looks beyond symptom relief, assessing how your joints, muscles and movement are functioning and identifying factors that may be contributing to ongoing discomfort.

The goal? Not just helping you feel better today, but creating a personalised approach that supports better function and long-term progress.

If this sounds familiar, get in touch with our team at Back2Normal Chiropractic!

Why don't chiropractic appointments stay the same forever? 🤔

As your recovery progresses, so does your care.

The focus at your first appointment isn't the same as it is weeks or months later. We tailor your treatment based on where you are in your recovery, from relieving pain, to restoring movement, to helping you stay well long-term.
