We know that families are starting to think ahead and we work with pre-paid funeral plan providers to help you put plans in place for when the inevitable happens. We have our own In-house celebrant who will lead a Celebration of Life for your loved one. Many people are choosing to have a Crematorium service now and a Burial of Ashes later when they can have more people attend the service and the 'Wake' afterwards. We can provide a complete funeral from under one roof to save you having to travel around different places. Tomorrow we will be attending to an unattended cremation (aka Direct Cremation) for a loved and respected gentleman.
It was his choice to have an unattended service and that is being respected by his family.
The family have been able to spend time with him in our Chapel of Rest to say their private goodbyes and have had the choice to pop a letter and photographs into his coffin with him.
In the morning when we arrive at the Crematorium for his allocated time there will be a piece of music playing and at the same time his family will listen to that same piece of music at home.
Unattended services don't have to be cold and impersonal.
