MHA Amathea

At Amathea, we provide residential and dementia care for our 40 residents in purpose-built, en suite accommodation.

We’re situated in the heart of Cumbrian market town, Workington, close to the River Derwent.

MHA recently launched our family and friends survey in our Care Homes. It's your opportunity to tell us about you and your family's experience in our home.

To complete the survey online, please visit www.ibyd.com/mha and click on the family and friends’ survey button. You can also ask the Home Manager for a printed copy.

On Thursday we had the wonderful Mayor of Workington with her lovely mum and Deputy Mayor come to visit us to celebrate the opening of our new dementia garden and our CQC report 😍 our residents and staff really enjoyed and appreciated their time spent with us 💕 In the afternoon we had the wonderful Sasha come to entertain us 🎼 🎤 This was followed by a lovely buffet. Amathea would like to thank everyone who attended. It was a great day enjoyed by all, and our residents had a fantastic time😄😍

Today we wished our wonderful resident Margatet a very happy birthday🎉🎂🎁 Margaret had a fabulous day and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, receiving lots of lovely presents, card's and a lovely birthday cake 🎂 🎁😘

Our wonderful residents have enjoyed their activities and took part in famous songs bingo 🎤🎶 armchair exercises to music 💪 😀 A lunch outing to the Royal George, music in films and musicals, a shopping trip to Carlisle followed by lunch at the Auctioneer 🍔🍨other activities have included a hymns morning singalong, one to ones, quiz tournaments, games morning, music from film's and musicals, and plenty of sing along and dancing🎤🎼 Our residents have had a fantastic time with lots of happy smiling faces 😀💕

This week our wonderful residents have enjoyed various activiies including some Nigerian arts and craft 🇳🇬 (Many thanks go to our wonderful resident Alan who has made some Nigerian hats) 💕A few of our residents wanted a Dolly Parton afternoon and thats what they got. (Many thanks go to our wonderful resident Joe who played Kenny Rogers) 🎤🎶 other activities have included a hymns morning singalong, a lunch outing, pampering sessions including nails and hand massages 💅 💕 quiz and dominoes tournament and the winner was Joe for the fourth time🏆redidents have had some one to ones and plenty of sing along and dancing. Our residents have had a great time as you can see from their happy smiling faces 😀💕

On Thursday morning we had a old time favorites sing along and dance 🎶 In the afternoon we had the wonderful Sasha come to entertain us, our residents thought she was fabulous and enjoyed singing along and dancing to her songs🎤 🎵 🎼 On Friday morning we had the Beatles music bingo and the winners received prizes, they also enjoyed singing along to some of the beatles number 1 hits. Our residents have had a great few days 😀💕

This week our wonderful residents wanted a Elvis Presley day, so thats what they got, they have enjoyed the history of Elvis, 2 x quizzes and a good sing along and dance to his music. we even had little Fraya enjoying the fun🪘 🎤 🎸 other activities have included a lunch outing, famous August birthdays👍😀 dominoes tournament and (Joe has been the winner for three weeks) 🏆they have also enjoyed quiz tournaments, armchair exercises. Hymns morning and this day in history📃and some one to ones 😍 Our residents have had a great time 😀💕
