Welcome to The Well Rooted Dog. The Woof Hub was designed to be a 'One Stop Shop' for 'All Things Dog'. I can even do humans too...

Located at Rufford Country Park, I am a Specialised Dog Trainer who has developed a unique, well researched & scientific backed approach to Dog Training & Canine Wellness. Having been a positive reinforcement dog trainer for over 12 years, I decided to open my own business back in 2021, The Woof Hub Ltd. And, as The Woof Hub went from strength to strength I decided I wanted to pursue another passion of mine and really thrive with a variety of services under one roof. I am qualified in Animal Management with a Level 3 Diploma, and as mentioned have over 12 years knowledge and experience in positive reinforcement training. But sometimes it's the right moment to make another progression! I was already under going a BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree with the Open University but deep down the spiritual healing was something I was driven to learn and practice. I knew I was an empath and was spiritually open from around 11 years old so have always felt comfortable with this type of healing. In 2022 I decided it was now my time, and so, began my future career goals working in perfect harmony alongside my current one! I signed up to become a Reiki Practitioner and with training, attunements, meditation and hard work I am almost ready to pass my Level 1&2 Diploma. I have been nurturing my abilities as I grow and develop with great success. I am also studying Animal Crystal Healing and shortly will hold a Level 3 Diploma in this sector too. Combining my passion for dogs, their welfare, nutrition and positive reinforcement training alongside the holistic healing therapy I know I can offer your dogs the perfect package when it comes to their over all wellbeing.

Well this wasn't quite what I'd got planned on the build up to my open day (soon to be announced) but unfortunately I've been on and off unwell and haven't been able to give this my full attention.

However...

With only a couple of more walls to paint I can safely say it is almost done and ready to open the doors for an AWESOME opening day event!

Keep your eyes peeled as open day announcement is coming soon!

What do you think so far?

I hear this a lot. 'When should I train my dog during the day? Before a meal, after a meal, morning, evening, when?' And the answer is simple. You train at the right time for ultimate success.

If your dog has a higher drive when they're ready for a meal then heading out an hour before meal times may give you more focus and drive. Using some of their kibble to train with alongside high value treats can be a real motivator.

If your dog struggles with distractions and busy locations then head out before the morning dog walk rush, finding a nice quiet spot to do some focus work alongside smaller distractions will set you up for a more successful session.

If your dog is more tired in the evening and prefers a sniffy walk with a toileting opportunity then use your morning walk to get better focus and results from training.

Getting to know your dog is part of the training journey. Trialing different times during the day and seeing when you get best focus is part of what I explore with owners. I love getting to know your dog and what makes them drive.

When does your dog focus better? What patterns have you noticed?

I only come to Nina for the foot warmer and doggy snuggles 🤪

Worksop Kinetic Chiropractic Clinic

Only joking! This woman got me back walking again after a severe injury 2 years ago. I'm still recovering and if it wasn't for her I don't know where I'd have been now. Chiropractor, physio, massage therapy and trying to keep gently moving my body is an ongoing thing for me and my daily life.

This is a great addition to the park and I'm sure a lot of you will use this after your muddy autumnal walks 🍂

Does anyone else have a 'helper' that doesn't really 'help' at all?

Badger has to get involved in everything I do. He's so funny! Forever under my feet and always a trip hazard LOL.

It's coming along guys! I've been suffering from migraines so the progress hasn't been quite as quick as I'd hoped but the progress is certainly there 😃. Just don't look at the other side of the room!

This one is 3 today. Frankie wasn't supposed to see his 3rd Birthday. But I made sure he did.

Frankie came into my life 16 weeks ago from rescue. When I met him he wasn't meant to see his 3rd birthday. He was up for discussion about whether or not he should be put to sleep. From the moment I met him I said that I would be willing to stand up in a court of law and claim this boys innocence and that I would advocate for him and his life.

2 weeks later I adopted him to keep him safe and give him a forever home and a new life.

He's been the best yet, most challenging thing that's ever come into my life.

I wouldn't change him for the world.

In the last 16 weeks he has showed me a kind, loyal, sensitive side that is deep rooted under a hooligan 😂. He is fun, spirited, eager to please and is learning to trust. He's had massage therapy, started basic training and has learnt to live with 3 other dogs. He settles, walks well, his recall is excellent and he hasn't got a nasty bone in his body. This boy deserved to see his 3rd birthday and he deserves to see his 13th too!

Happy Birthday my boy. Happy happy birthday 🎂
