To our volunteers - thank you.

During Volunteers’ Week, we want to take the opportunity to recognise and thank our volunteers for the time, care and commitment they bring to Nottinghamshire Mind. Our volunteers help create welcoming, supportive spaces for people across Nottinghamshire, and the difference they make every day matters deeply to us.

Following our recent update on the difficult decision to make changes to some of our services, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers for everything they contribute to Nottinghamshire Mind. Many have given their time, energy and care in these services, and the support they have offered has made a real and lasting difference to the people we work with.

These changes do not take away from what our volunteers have helped build. The kindness, commitment and compassion they’ve shown remain at the heart of our organisation 💙

As we move forward, we’re reflecting on what we’ve learned and what our communities need now. There will still be volunteering opportunities with us, and we’re working on some new and different ways to get involved - so watch this space.

Above all, thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do and the genuine difference you make 🌟

Today, we’re sharing some difficult news.

Nottinghamshire Mind has made the very difficult decision to close some of our community services and groups in Nottinghamshire.

Like many charities, we are navigating ongoing changes in funding. Support from fundraising, grants and council funding has helped sustain these services, but increasing financial pressures across the sector, alongside reduced public spending and greater competition for funding, mean decisions like this are sometimes unavoidable.

We want to be clear that this decision is not a reflection of the value, impact or need for these services. We know they have made a meaningful difference to the people who use them and to the wider community.

While some services and groups will continue, this is a difficult moment for everyone affected. We would like to thank our service users, staff, volunteers, partners, funders and supporters who have helped make these services possible.

While this news is hard to share, it also gives us an opportunity to listen, learn and refocus on what our communities need most. We remain committed to providing mental health support across Nottinghamshire and to shaping future services with care, learning and hope 💙
