I’m always looking for those moments that help maintain my faith in humanity. The more we consciously look for something, the more likely we are to notice it — thanks to the Reticular Activating System. 🧠

Recently, in one of my classes, a lady arrived feeling understandably distressed after something upsetting had happened at her home. As she shared what had happened, the group naturally came together around her.

People offered support, practical suggestions, and helped her think through a way forward.
For me, this is one of the great strengths of yoga. Beyond the physical practice, it creates a sense of community, connection, and care for one another.

Witnessing that collective kindness and willingness to help was a powerful reminder of the good that exists in people. 🫶

I wonder what good you can spot?

This water always has a way of bringing out the supportive streaks in people and it’s a joy to be around. 🫶

Another lovely stretch and sauna mini retreat last night at my second home The Forge for a group of exhausted carers.

I’ll be listing a few more dates for the summer usually on a Thursday evening but I’ll try and find a weekend one too! 💚

Are you visiting Wales this summer? ☀️

We have a beautiful country and that's probably why you're coming! 🫶

A few little things can help keep it beautiful and safe for everyone to enjoy:

1. Please close gates behind you. Open gates can mean animals get onto roads and end up injured.

2. Take it easy on the country lanes. Watch out for potholes, cyclists, horse riders, walkers and local traffic. A bit of extra space and patience goes a long way.

3. Leave disposable BBQs at home if you can and bring a picnic instead. If you do use a BBQ, please make sure it's not directly on grass as they can start fires very quickly.

4. Bring a bag for your rubbish and take it home with you. Bins at popular spots fill up fast during the summer.

5. Please take glass bottles home too. They can be dangerous for wildlife, livestock and people, and can become a fire risk in hot weather.

6. Park in designated parking areas and avoid blocking gates, driveways, farm entrances or narrow roads. Emergency vehicles and local residents may need access at any time.

7. If you're staying in an Airbnb or holiday let, please remember there may be people living nearby who work night shifts, have young children, or are elderly. A little consideration goes a long way.

8. Keep dogs under control and follow local signs, especially around livestock.

9. Please don't release balloons. They might look pretty going up, but they eventually come back down and can harm wildlife, livestock and marine life.

Most importantly, enjoy your visit! 💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Wales is an amazing place and we'd love to keep it that way for everyone.

The escaped cows helping me to mooove this weekend… 🤪

Also, shout out to the awesome chap serving at the petrol station this morning, who was happily singing along to the radio and even invited the ‘unimpressed’ customer he was serving to join in. Undeterred, he carried on regardless, spreading a bit of joy to everyone around him.

I complimented him on his lovely voice and had a hum along myself as I walked back to my car.

It reminded me that anyone who works in customer service and still manages to be cheerful after dealing with the public all day possesses powers far beyond those of ordinary mortals. 💪

These last 7 months have been incredibly hard. Losing Bel felt like losing almost all the joy, safety and my entire support network.

Someone once described grief as feeling “homesick for a time that once was,” and that’s exactly how it’s felt.

Alongside that, we’ve been sorting and packing up the house we’ve loved for many years with her in it, since we’ve bought our first and forever home in Llangollen. 🎉

As thrilled as I am (and privileged) it’s come with mixed emotions. I moved around a lot growing up, and I find this kind of change so tough to adapt to.

It’s also hard saying goodbye to so many incredible memories held within these four walls.

And then, to top it all off, I’ve decided to go to university next year to train as a physiotherapist. That’s meant reshuffling long-standing commitments and saying a few reluctant goodbyes to make space for this next chapter.

I’ve definitely had to have a serious conversation with myself about pacing, and about rediscovering what the right pace for me actually is. Running a small business on top of all the other adulting bits has pushed me close to the edge at times, and honestly, most days my mind and body have had enough. 😴

I moved to these parts over a decade ago when my mental health was at its absolute lowest.

The landscape and the people here felt like they wrapped me in a giant blanket and held me there until I felt strong enough to begin again.

And I did. Even with all the challenges that came afterwards. 🫣😂💪

Although LLIW has grown into a micro business, it originally started as a way to document the changes in my life — something I could look back on and reflect from. I suppose this is just another entry in that journal: change may be uncomfortable, but stagnation is far more costly.

I’m excited for this new chapter and as ever so grateful for the love and support . 🫶

P.S. If you’ve booked on to my June + July retreats & classes and are waiting on replies, please bear with me as my internet will be quite limited for a few weeks.
