GLP-1 drugs are the talk of the town! But almost no-one talks about where GLP-1 comes from.

The gut produces it naturally, every single day - alongside a whole cascade of hormones (leptin, ghrelin) and metabolites that regulate appetite, blood sugar, and metabolism.

The pharmaceutical industry didn’t invent this pathway. They found a way to hack it.

Which raises the real question: if the underlying gut ecosystem stays imbalanced, are you actually fixing the problem - or just overriding the symptom?

Most stool tests miss Archaea!

Different to bacteria, specific Archaea species are raised in ~80% of methane positive SIBO cases.

A breath test for SIBO might be positive, but what is the root cause?

Research shows certain Archaea species produce methane, linking them to bloating and constipation.

Is ADHD a gut issue? 🧠🦠

The research is pointing in a fascinating direction! One consistent finding across recent studies is the depletion of SCFA-producing bacteria in children with ADHD - the microbes that produce short-chain fatty acids which fuel the gut-brain axis.

Studies have identified reduced levels of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Roseburia, (& many more) in children diagnosed with ADHD.

Hay fever sufferers often check the pollen count, but do they know to check their gut microbiome?

The gut microbiome directly influences both histamine production and degradation.

And it's not just hay fever — histamine dysregulation can contribute to skin reactions, headaches, and digestive symptoms too.
