The obituary notice of the late Michael D. Doherty

The death has occurred of Michael D. Doherty, late of 109 Bluebell Woods, Maree Road, Oranmore, Co. Galway, and formerly of ‘Aisling’, Lifford Road, Raphoe, Co. Donegal, who died on 28th October 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness bravely borne.

Beloved husband of the late Teresa, adored father of Michéle (Crowe) (Tipperary), Deirdre, Ursula (Flynn) and Siobhán (Stack) (Galway). Deeply regretted by his sons-in-law Seamus, Tommy and Tony, brother Kieran (Carndonagh), sisters-in-law Frances and Maura, brother-in-law Fergus McCarron, grandchildren Aisling, Eimear, Roisin, Ciara, Aaron, Oisín, Áine and Micheál, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Friday, 30th October 2026
Reposing at his home in Oranmore, Co. Galway (H91 K4VR) from 2.00pm to 8.00pm.

Saturday, 31st October 2026
Remains arriving at St. Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, Co. Donegal (F93 HX20) at 5.00pm.

Sunday, 1st November 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Michael in St. Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, Co. Donegal (F93 HX20) at 11.00am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has taken place at Brindley Manor Nursing home of Martin Gallagher, 183 Guystown, Ballindrait Co. Donegal, F93 RR2N
Sadly missed by his wife Annemarie, his sons Andrew, and Adrian (Tanya); his daughter Martina (Paul); his devoted grandchildren Ryan, Andrew, Megan, Mark, Madison, Mason, Michella and Hayley, great-grandson Blake, his brother John and sister Kathleen Wilson and all his extended family, neighbours and friends.

Martin was predeceased by his parents John and Francis and son Thomas, brothers Tommy and Paddy (Sion Mills), his sisters Gertie (England) and Peggy (Tullyvinney). May they all Rest in Peace.

We, the family of the late Mary Bovaird, wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who supported us during our mother's bereavement.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, especially those who travelled long distances, and to those who sent sympathy cards, Mass cards, letters, and flowers.
A special thank you to our extended family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
Our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses of the Stroke Unit at Letterkenny University Hospital for the care and attention shown to our mother.

Thank you to Fr. Kemmy and Fr. Damien for the support shown to us, and to Terrance McClintock for the professional work carried out in preparing the grave.

The death has occurred of Bernard (Barney) Gibson, 5 Dergview, Castlefin, Co. Donegal. F93 VA0P formerly Ard Baithin, St Johnston.

Bernard will be lovingly missed by his partner, Bridget, sister Mary (England), close family members, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Bernard was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Maggie Gibson; his brother, Michael, his sisters Nora and Sadie.
