Your skin is the canvas.

Before any needle goes near your face in my clinic, I’m assessing one thing first: skin integrity.

Barrier function. Hydration. Tone. Texture. Pigment. Laxity.

Because here’s what nobody selling you “3 areas for €X” will say Bot@x and filler sitting on top of poor-quality skin is like painting over damp walls. It might look fine for a few weeks. It won’t hold, and it won’t look right.

Healthy skin makes injectables look better, last longer, and need less product. That’s not an upsell : it’s the opposite. It usually means I’m prescribing skincare and patience before I’m prescribing a syringe.

So if you come to me for anti-wrinkle and leave with a retinoid, SPF and a review date instead ,that’s not a no. That’s a plan.

Lately our industry feels like it’s split into two camps.

Those who see every other injector, clinic or aesthetic doctor as a threat. And those who don’t.

I’m firmly in the second camp.

There are enough patients for all of us. Enough faces that need good, honest, medically-led care. Enough room for every skilled, ethical practitioner to thrive.

So if you’re a fellow aesthetic doctor or nurse or therapist reading this : I’m rooting for you. Genuinely.

I don’t think it’s quite this simple.

I invest in technology because it helps me treat rosacea, acne, pigmentation, redness, broken vessels and skin ageing.

If I recommend a treatment, it’s not because I own the device.

It’s because I believe it’s the right treatment for that patient.

The real question isn’t who owns the technology.

It’s whether they can explain why they’re recommending it.

The best doctor isn’t always the one with 500k followers.

And they’re not always the one with no Instagram account either.

Social media is just a tool.

Used badly, it can spread misinformation.

Used well, it can educate thousands of people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to evidence-based information.

In 2026, almost everyone influences someone.

The question isn’t who has influence.

The question is who deserves it.

Here’s my honest take. I think it does, not because aesthetics are a job requirement, but because your injector’s face tells you something about their philosophy.

If I wouldn’t do it to myself, I won’t do it to you.

My job isn’t to make you look different. It’s to make you look like you. Just well-rested, lifted, refreshed.

You should leave my clinic and have people say you look great,not you’ve had work done!!
