Think of the vagus nerve like the wise old grandmother of the house.
As the master cranial nerve it is, it touches Every organ in your body.
For newborns it is often underdeveloped and needs to be stimulated to bring it online. This can link into reasons why newborns have issues with wind, colic and reflux.
Often their little digestive system just isn't fired up fully and ready to do its job properly yet.
But by applying light circular pressure to the pad of the baby finger you can help to stimulate the vagus nerve and get it to come online.
I would advise doing this before each feed.
For children and adults alike this can be a great point to stimulate when experiencing wind, constipation, or recovering from a tummy bug.
You can apply deep firm pressure clockwise to the pad of each baby finger, several times a day, when needed.
