NOEL CARR Aughmagree, Kilteevan, Co. Roscommon and formerly of Colga, Calry, Co. Sligo, August 16th 2026, peacefully at Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved parents Peter and Mary. Much loved brother of Bernie Clarke, Margaret, Robert, Peter, Eddie and Frankie Carr. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brother-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law Deirdre and Eileen, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, his colleagues at Noel Carr and Company, Roscommon, relatives, neighbours and his wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Smyths Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Wednesday, August 19th from 3:30pm until 5:30pm and on Thursday, August 20th at his brother Eddie’s home, Colga, Calry, Co. Sligo (F91F8A0) from 5pm until 8pm.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, August 21st at 11am in Saint Patrick’s Church, Calry, Co. Sligo (F91V659) and will be livestreamed via www.churchservices.tv/calryparish. Burial will follow in Sligo Cemetery.

MAI SNYPE Leeds, England and formerly of Hollywell, Derrane and Cloonerk, Kilrooskey, Co Roscommon passed away peacefully in England, in her 92nd year of a life well lived.

She is predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary, brothers Michael and Pat, sisters-in-law Kathleen and Gretta and by her infant niece Teresa.

She will be very sadly missed by her niece Joan, nephews Joseph, Micheál and Padraig, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, extended family, and by her many friends both in the U.K. and in Ireland.

Rest in peace.

BREDA DUFFY (née Fallon) Weekfield, Roscommon and formerly of Clooneenbane, Roscommon died peacefully on August 5th, 2026; surrounded by her loving family while in the devoted care of Roscommon Hospice.

Much loved wife of Noel and adored Mum to Karen and Paul. She will be forever missed by her heartbroken family, grandchildren Kayden, Adam and Conor, mother Peggy, brothers Shawn, Michael, Marty, Andrew and Dermot, sisters Anna and Sharon, son-in-law Anthony (Kelly), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, cousins, neighbours and good friends.

JOHN DILLON Abbeyvale, St Theresa’s Road, Roscommon Town and formerly of Cromhill, Kilteely, Co Limerick and Borrisokane, Co Tipperary died peacefully after a long illness borne with dignity and courage.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Martina (née Noone), daughters Róisin (Dylan), Niamh (Maurizio), Orla (Ben) and Sinéad (Aidan), son Eoghan and his adored granddaughter Cadhla.

Predeceased by his grandparents Alice and John, parents Alice and Liam, uncle Mick, mother-in-law Rose and father-in-law Christy.

He will be remembered with love by his family, sister Teresa Hession (Andy), brothers James Bracken, Mike Bracken (Sandra) and Tim Bracken (Sandra), brothers-in-law Padraic (Pauline) and Benny, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

MATTIE MURPHY Kilteevan, Co Roscommon passed away peacefully on 1st July 2026 in his 97th year, in the devoted care of the staff at Sonas Nursing Home, Cloverhill. He is pre-deceased by his sons-in-law Michael Stynes and Dave Bell, parents Elizabeth and Patrick, brothers Martin, Patrick and Eddie and sisters Eileen, Annie May, Delia, Una, Lily, Ann and May.

Mattie will be forever missed and remembered with love by his family: beloved wife Gertie, daughters Mairéad and Siobhan, brother John (Australia), his adored grandchildren Aoife and Conor, brother-in-law and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
